To celebrate it with the family, to eat special foods at one table with them, and to have a simple sweet dessert that one can enjoy during that time. This is really just a simple wish or plan, but it can be hard for some to make it happen due to distance. But I hope everyone will keep their smile on, especially those celebrating it alone. I wish you all a merry and bright Christmas!
It was just November when I first thought about what gift I would give to my mama and my oldies, you know, as part of my Christmas plans. I'll be their not-so-secret Santa that will give them an unwrapped gift this coming Christmas, lol. I'm thinking about just getting a thing that "I think they may like," but then they might not enjoy it, so the best thing to do is to just ask them. At first, I planned to give cash to my Mama, then a watch to my Mommy F after seeing her old watch's color fade away, and maybe shoes for Mommy D, but yeah, in the end, I just asked them personally.
My Mama and Mommy F want the same thing, which is shoes. I want a different design for them, but they both choose the same design. Well, I can just pick a different color for each. Mama also included a slipper, which she can use every day. She actually saw one good design in a pick-up shop near our place, but upon checking the price, she had a second thought, saying that she saw a similar design on one of the ads on Facebook, and it is from an online shop we often use, so I looked for it there, and yeah, it is really much cheaper than what they sell in a pick-up shop.
As for Mommy D, I don't really know what to get for her. She's really not asking for anything and saying that I should just save it, lol, but I know she is just being shy. But I am also planning to get shoes for her. It's just hard to look for her size because she's a 35, like every pretty shoe I saw, they all started at a 36. She's like a size for kids. But hopefully, I can find one for her.
Now, when it comes to foods, I am planning to buy this cake in a cup that we ate the last time I visited the night market here in Plaza de Bansud. I bought four cakes in a cup with two flavors, and we all love them, especially my oldies. We rarely indulge ourselves in sweet treats, so I want to have that again for Christmas. I find it a little expensive, but with its taste, it's all worth it.
And when I asked Mommy F yesterday if she wanted to have it again, she said sure, lol. She really did enjoy it, so it's a plan. I will include that for our Christmas celebration.
To be honest, I want to make mango float, but after eating this cake in a cup, I decided to just have it. A cake is really the best for this kind of occasion. In the past, we only had the Special Gelatin of Mommy F, but to make a difference this year, I want to add this cake as a dessert for that very special day. I just hope they are available at 24 in the night market. I will just put them in the fridge and consume them the next day. I'm still waiting for the reply from the seller of this cake in a cup. Let's see if they will also make this during that time.
Now, for the plan about where to go during Christmas, hmmm, we might just stay home that day. Or if my oldies want a short trip, we might go to Aunt Velyn's house to celebrate Christmas with her. She's alone at home and only has her three dogs as a companion, so for sure, she will love the idea.
I'll receive a loud bark from the three dogs, for sure. Celebrating Christmas alone is really sad, so having even one companion or two on that day will surely make a big difference. But let's see, the decision will be made by my oldies. If my brother and his family visit home, this will be set aside. But Mommy D can go visit her sister, though alone. Still, it's better than nothing, right?
It's not sure yet, but I just want to share that after hearing the news that brother will stay here together with his kids, I had this urge to get a cake - so yeah, this is also one of the reasons why I want to have those cakes in a cup for Christmas. The kids will surely love this, especially Pia and Queeny.
And that's the plan for Christmas Celebration. How's your planning going?
