[LOH-199] An Overwhelming Job Experience as a Promodiser: One of the Reasons Why I Prefer WFH Over a Regular Day Job

I never really experienced hunting for a job, but I was able to experience applying for a job where I am already sure to get that job. I actually had a backer ( ꈍᴗꈍ), they're recommending me for the job, and they even taught me what to answer, it's for when I'm already having a face to face interview with the interviewer, they spoon fed me everything. I thought everything would be easy from then on, but for someone who's shy, can't speak loudly, and is stup*d when it comes to direction, I had to ask for lots of help from my sister and even from the one who recommended me for that job,

IMG_20240819_134708.jpg

I got all the help that I needed from all of them, including my NBI clearance, barangay clearance, and medical certificate. I also have to take care of my uniform, and from the skirt, the top, and even the underwear, that's a lot of expenses and the money I'm holding was not enough. Job hunting is the hardest, but that's just the first step, you'll have to finish another quest before you can successfully work. But thanks God, we're able to finish gathering all the requirements needed. That's also thanks to those people who helped me.

I am so grateful, and I really, really want to work things out once I start working as promodiser, you know, as a way to repay those who helped me and for them to think that they didn't choose the wrong person for that job. I am determined to work things out, really, but, unfortunately, I didn't attend work on my second day. I thought hard before I decided to stop. I weighed everything, not just the expenses I spent using Mom and Ate Riza's money but also their help. But this work is really not just for me. I know I should've tried more.

I really feel bad, and I am so ashamed of what I did. Imagine not attending on just the second day, huh? I know, I'm really stupid. But I don't like that work, even if it's just for experience, I don't like it. Aside from the cold inside the Robinson department store, I am also overwhelmed by what I had to do to get to work. And even though the Robinson is just walking distance from our apartment, I hate the overpass! I have to climb up, then go to work with sweat all over me. I just hate it all! It's energy consuming!

I also hate that I have to login with my name every time we have to enter. Then the lady guard will check our bodies for whatever reason whenever we have to go outside or even just for a break. Like why? Who's crazily hide products inside our bodies? I mean, I think no one will even think about that. They don't have trust in their employees! I hate that too. I can't even bring my own tissue, I can bring a handkerchief, but that too needs embroidery of Robinson's logo. Like, WTF? I really hate their ways.

My Temporary ID back then

And this is the reason why I don't want to look for a job now —I mean, one of the reasons. I'd rather work from home, even though the pay is not regular. I'd rather do freelancing than get tired just going into my workplace. At least I won't sweat, and I won't get tired. Although the pay is not regular compared to a regular job, it is still so much better. And by handling your money wisely, I think you can still live comfortably with it. Although there's a part of me that still likes to try working outside, right now, I am still enjoying what I'm currently doing.

And you know, with the bills left and right, it's impossible to save no matter what, especially in the Philippines. The minimum wage is too small, everything is already increasing in price, but why is the salary still the same? And Mom knows that is also one of the reasons why I don't want to work in City Hall, as she once encouraged me. I told her that I'd be just their errand girl there if ever, and then what? I'd get the same amount of salary, no increase or whatever, so nevermind! Mom is so understanding, that's why I'm thankful.

Working from home also has its downsides, but for me, just based on that one experience, as long as I am enjoying it, then G! I know that other people who hunt jobs have the worst experience during their time applying than mine. I know I am just too choosy, too arrogant, too weak, and really stupid, but seriously, it's my worst experience too. Some people can adjust and do it, but I can't. So I'd go where I'm safe and comfortable. And I'll say, work from home is really for me, better for the introvert me, who hate crowds and facing people.

How about you? Freelancing and work at home or a job outside with a monthly salary?

Nagwork ka pala sa Robinson sa Lipa hehe madalas ako diyan 'pag umuuwi ako sa Batangas. Mas prefer ko siya kesa dun sa SM.

Yep, for one day HAHAHAHAHA. Di na pumasok na next day, huhu. Super lamig naman kasi coz kakaunti tao compare sa SM. Tulo ng tulo sipon ko that time tas bawal tissue huhu.

I agree with you, ate. There are reasons and factors for our personal choices, whether working from home or outside. There are advantages and disadvantages, but as long as you are happy, then go for it. 😇

Right, kapag di na happy, then sad nalang hahaha.

Glad to know that you had a backer. Wfh or not, same lng din naman na may pros and cons. Depende nlng talaga sa tao.

But sinayang ko langggg ಥ‿ಥ

Each individual reacts differently to going out to work, once employed rules need to be followed, although years since I was employed changes may have happened.

Working for oneself is far more demanding of oneself, being able to approach each assignment with knowledge in what one is doing.

Yes, rules and everything, you also have ro be on time always. You'll wake up everyday doing the same thing. But if you love what you're doing, no matter how demanding the work, it will still be an enjoyable one. I think.

I thoroughly enjoyed my career years, now behind me I enjoy the online world. When young we never had an internet, very few ventured into owning their own companies, freelancing not really heard of.

One of the hassles, which I hated the most in applying jobs is the f2f interview.. Philippine companies pa tlga may high standards, lol. At Yung tipong sa pinas ka lang, need mo pa mag English 😅🤣 mga Chinese nga, Chinese din interview, lol. Another one is Yung requirements. Grabe ang dami, from school credentials, medical, to clearances and other certificates. Job hunting pa lang kapagod na haha... Pro carry lang Naman if maka work with stable monthly income.
Try mo kaya mag freelance na lang, who knows? Makahanap ka din ng good client. Although may interview din ang iba, pro not all.
At medyo mahirap din maka hanap ng client kapag bago pa lang.. both may advantages and disadvantages naman..

Grabi no, tapos buti sana if final interview kaso minsa iinterviehan kalang para e deny din kapag nakahanap sila ng mas bet nila. Parang super sayang effort kapag ganito. Nakakawalang gana mag continue.

Not sure pa madam. Kamusta plan mo for freelancing madam?

I have a traditional job, but I would like to work from home, but I have not yet found a job with which I can pay all my expenses, it would be a dream.

Maybe you should try freelancing. I mean why not study about it first then while you have your job, you can explore more about it.

I understand you completely and I agree with your way of thinking.

Thank you so much ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

Daming requirements pero konti Lang sahod. Hindi KO pa naranasang mg work SA MgA mall dyan, pero SA narinig KO, grabe talaga MgA policies nla.😬
