Good day, I am glad to participate in this week ladies of hives contest and I will be sharing my experience on the first topic
Based on your own job hunting and work experiences, which do you prefer, working from home as a freelancer, or working outside the home where you get stable monthly pay? Why?
I have been through a lot when it comes to job hurting and I feel from my experience I prefer working outside the home where I will get a stable pay. My reasons are:
Working outside the home is a form of exercise which is good for the body. Most freelancing jobs doesn't demand moving around and as such many don't have that opportunity to exercise which is not good for the body
Another point is that you get to build strong relationship with people by working outside the home. Most people have been helped base on the relationship they build with their colleagues at work. A freelancer really don't have time for that.
Working outside the home enhances once concentration at work. There is a probability of been distracted while working at home and if one encounters any difficulty it can easily be solve with your colleagues around.
Also, working outside with stable income enhances planning. Most times, I draw out my list of things that I need and work with my expected income, a freelancer might not have a fixed income and as such may not be able to draw a long-term plan.
I know that freelancing has it's own benefits such as reduction in the level of expenses that is, transportation cost, you can work at your own pace without being monitored and you can do more than one freelancing jobs at the same time which means one can be earning from more than one job every month.
Presently, I'm doing both working outside the home and freelancing job. Because I teach, I will always prefer teaching to any other job. Probably because it's my passion. I know I can teach online but trust me there is nothing that can be compared to a physical class.
On the second question:
Explore how each option (Freelancing vs. Traditional Employment) impacts work–life balance, considering factors such as time management, personal freedom, and the demands of clients vs employers.
The impact of both freelancing and traditional employment on work-life balance cannot be overemphasized. In the aspect of time management, traditional employment helps in managing time compared to freelancing. It takes discipline for a freelancer to manage time. But in an environment where you see people working tirelessly you too will feel motivated to work.
In the aspect of personal freedom, freelancing has it. As a freelancer you have unlimited freedom to work compared to traditional employment. Traditional employment put people under monitoring and evaluation. so, you are always expected to be up and doing.
In the aspect of demand, this is greatly affected by the nature of the job, most employers or clients prefer traditional employment to freelancing for jobs that demands immediate delivery and proper monitoring to freelancing and overtime traditional employment has proo
In conclusion both depends on individual passion and preference. However, my people will say "work na work" that is, there is no job that is inferior so far you are doing the right thing and earning in a good way.
**Thanks for reading my post, I wish you a blessed week ahead.
