Happy New year to my hive lovers!
In a deep reflection of what happened last year and now the new year came without anyone's ability to be able to hold it back just because there are things we planned to achieve and still couldn't achieve them before the end of 2024.
It's funny how we promise ourself that we must ensure that this or that is achieved and at the end of the day we couldn't achieve them. This was actually what I experienced but last year was a bit better, I remembered at the beginning of last year I said I was going to do somethings, I achieved some of my goals but not all because of some reasons I realized and I will be sharing them so that you can see if these resonate with you and try adjust them in the new year.
Laziness in writing: I have several goals running through my head at the beginning of last year, I remembered that I posted some of my goals on hive while some were never written. Most times, we set goals but the steps to achieve them were not known at the conception and as we move on in the year, little ideas about the goals starts dropping on our minds, sometimes it might be while on transit, in an unplanned environment and because we were not prepared for it we couldn't take note and write them because of these, we lose them. To correct this I got myself a jotter which will always be with me and created a WhatsApp group where I'm the only member to take down ideas that comes in an unplanned environment in case I'm not with my jotter. I know WhatsApp has my attention more because of my business, so it will be easy for me to utilize it anytime.
Lack of monitoring: it is good to set goals but it is very important to keep track of it. There are many goals that never leaves the inception stage because of lack of monitoring. Goals should be pasted where you can see it every morning before you go out and before you sleep at night. By so doing, it gets stick into ones brain and helps to guide ones daily steps.
Waiting for the right time: one of the barriers to achieving set goals is a common saying among youths in my country, you'll hear them say " I'm waiting for the right to to start" the truth is that right time may never come, "now" is the right time. Procrastination is a great enemy one must fight to fulfill goals.
Take a step, start it now not tomorrow and before you sleep, always question what you achieved everyday. So, if you couldn't achieve it last year, its better late than never, you can actually start it now. Failure at first doesn't mean it will fail again this time, identify what you were not doing well then and do it rightly this time. I remembered several ideas I was supposed to post on hive died because I felt there it is not yet time for it. Instead of writing them and storing them in my archive, I won't and ended up not posting and losing the idea. Sometimes I get shocked seeing that another person has posted it. Therefore, never delay anything you are set to do.
Finally, sometimes we tend to drop some goals because of what I called "what will people say" factor. Many people live in the shadow of who they truly are because they put people's ideology first. The truth is, most successful people are people who are deaf, "deaf" in the sense that they don't listen to people's opinion which is one thing that I see in this Gen Z, this generation don't pay attention to critics anymore, we must be intentional about what is working for us and keep doing it by the time you are successful those criticizing you will be your top fans later. These are conclusions I draw from my experience and I seek to utilize them too and I hope someone can affirm to these too.
Happy New year once again, thanks for reading and feel free to share your opinion too.
