My mother did a lot for me growing up, matching outfits, snacks endless toys, trips and just endless loving. Above all this beautiful experience, my favourite was counting and bundling money with her. I learnt a lot about savings, expenses and budgeting from the few times we did hang out together.
Now let me explain. My title is a combination of bonding and bundle, the two activities we did together. My mummy worked in a unit that was usually paid in cash, at that time due to the whole bank issues. The workers now divided this money into different sections and paid it into the bank.
My mother would set a day for this task and just sit down and divide the money into different denominations then she'd start placing them and bundling all of the denominations while calculating. I would always watch her closely, studying how she did it and became intrigued.
During this period, I would always come in and while I was spending time with her, she would give me bundles of ₦10, the lowest denomination to bundle. I always thought I'd be a banker because of those times. As we bundled, we spoke about school and everything. It's a memory engraved in my skull something I would always remember.
