Art in Hospital: Barns

I've been seeing too much of hospitals lately, and I just got back from another visit to the doctor, argh!

Instead of boring you about the details of my visit to the doctor, let's talk about art in hospitals.

I found a series of photographs which reminded me so much of @thekittygirl's love for discovering barns!

These are all works of Eric Engstrom in Giclee Print.

As in any painting, the series celebrate the freedom and personal interpretation of what the artist see or feel.

This first one is Old Glory Barn, The Forges, Plymouth, Massachusetts, 2008 in the size 36 x 48 inches.

Below is White Barn, Old U.S. 12, Wisconsin, 2008. The art work is 36 x 55-5/8".

Bow Top Barn, Webster, South Dakota, 2009, It is in the size 36 x 52".

Eric Engstrom called the art below "1905" Barn, Route 12, South Dakota, 2008. 36 x 52-3/4"

Galvanized Barn, Nicasio, California, 2008 36 x 58-3/8"

And a Vineyard Barn, Carneros, California, 2008 36 x 53-5/8"

According to research, art is much more than just beautiful things created for pleasure. And I agree! It improves health by lowering blood pressure, lowering stress, quickening healing, elevating mood, and triggering the happy hormone. Art in hospitals enhances care, elevates the patient's perspective, and is joyful, uplifting, and positive for all.

Sadly, I think hospitals are a global problem for anyone. Either the features they come with, many of them missing, or being way too few. Hopefully, this will change with the passage of time and the evolution of technology that can help with this purpose too.

Art distracts ones mind off matters at hand, always a good idea having tasteful portraits that should appeal to most.

I remember the days exploring barns with @thekittygirl, always looked forward to seeing location with much detail in history on each.

Interesting to learn about Giclee print both my Dad and Husband in printing so some papers I knew about, not the thin nozzles on specialized printing machines. We had Canon six tank printer with special photographic paper for reprints, digital reminders around the home.

Very interesting about the GiClee prints!
So different than from how offset Lithographic prints are produced on a printing press.
I was a lithographer for 23 years😊

Barns are such interesting subjects for artwork and photographs. I enjoy looking at them and photographing them as well, but really, really like it when there are silos with them and they have the dome on top! We've got quite a few picturesque barns here in my neck of the woods. Maybe @thekittygirl might should come take a look-see!
