It's interesting that Ladies Of Hive in contest #203 also talked about the three films we watched over the weekend. Although I enjoy all genres, there are certain genres that I watch often and those that I avoid. The ones that I often avoid are the gore genre, while the ones that I often enjoy to relax on the weekends are the melodrama genre or the ones about motivational dreams.
Let's take them one by one:
2037 or Igongsamchil is a Korean film about a minor girl who becomes a murderer. The murder committed by Yoon Young was because she was raped and threatened by her rapist that her mother would also receive the same treatment. As a result of the murder committed by Yoon, she was imprisoned for five years with the number 2037.
From this film, we can learn about women's rights, what I can do as a victim of rape during the trial. Who can a victim turn to for protection and support in order to stand up in court, and much more. The stories of women and their struggles are always amazing. When I watched this, I had tears in my eyes.
If the above film is from Korea, the second film is an American film that aired in 2023. This romantic drama film tells the story of Nora (Greeta Lee) and Hae Sung (Tae Yoo) who were friends from childhood and went through adolescence together. Even though in one phase of their lives they were separated because Nora had to follow her family to migrate to America, the relationship between Nora and Hae Sung is still going well. The story of unspoken love, time that cannot be returned, and reunion as a form of finding answers is the story of Hae Sung's short journey to America that leaves the audience feeling empty.
Perhaps some of you have already watched this very sweet and very motivational musical film. It's about PT Barnum's circus team and its extraordinary members. How they realised their dream of being seen as ‘normal’ as everyone else. How their music harmonises with the dreams burning in their chests. Almost all of the OSTs are very heartfelt and encouraging.
To this day, I still love the OST from The Greatest Showman.
Those are the three films that I would like to recommend in case any of my friends want to ask about relaxing films that can be enjoyed at the end of sensitive time. Are any of the three movies above your favourite?
Thanks for the awesome question in this week's contest @irenenavarroart
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
