Good day, my beautiful people of the hive.
Before starting my business, I thought my friends and family would be potential customers, but I was proved wrong.
It all started when my best friend went to another hair vendor to buy hair, even though she knew I was in the hair business. The worst part was that she wore the hair and came to my shop. I calmly asked her why she went to another place to buy hair and she responded that she could buy from whoever she liked, not necessarily me.
When my cousin was preparing for her wedding, I was excited that I would be able to sell my products to her, her mother, and mother-in-law and have her refer her bridal party to me. However, the wedding came and went and she didn't buy any hair from me.
This made me realize that my friends and family shouldn't be my only customers. I started advertising my business seriously, both online and offline, and customers started coming.
Instead of waiting for my friends and family, I turned my customers into friends and they started referring their friends to me. My business started growing as a result.
In conclusion, when starting a business, don't rely solely on your friends and family as customers. Customers can be found everywhere.
Thanks for reading.
