First of all I apologize for the audacity of pretending to create content in a community of ladies, but the truth is that I am new to the platform, and I am constantly reviewing the communities in search of knowledge, I like to learn from other people, that's how I came to this beautiful community and the contest caught my attention, as it has very interesting questions that I would like to answer, thanks in advance.
Ante todo pido disculpas por la osadía de pretender crear contenido en una comunidad de damas, pero la verdad es que soy nuevo en la plataforma, y constantemente estoy revisando las comunidades en la búsquedas de conocimiento, me gusta aprender de otras personas, fue así como llegué a esta preciosa comunidad y me llamó la atención el concurso, ya que tiene preguntas muy interesantes que me gustaría responder, gracias a de antemano.
Based on your own job hunting and work experiences, which do you prefer, working from home as a freelancer, or working outside the home where you get stable monthly pay? Why?
Basándote en tus propias experiencias laborales y de búsqueda de empleo, ¿qué prefieres, trabajar desde casa como autónomo o trabajar fuera de casa donde recibes un sueldo mensual estable? ¿Por qué?
I worked for many years as a plant supervisor in a pharmaceutical company, I had good times there and as you can imagine I also had economic stability, I received a good salary, I had paid holidays and social benefits, however, after a while I discovered how fragile is that ‘stability’ that I thought I had, suddenly I was fired after a downsizing, and this happened at a very bad time because my wife was pregnant and about to give birth to my second daughter, however, after talking to someone, this person shed light on a new possibility, to work on my own as a taxi driver, at the beginning I was not very sure about it, I was used to receive a fixed salary and established schedules, but after knocking on the doors of several companies with my curriculum in hand without getting answers, I had no doubt that I had to try it, so I used part of the money they gave me in the company and bought a new car with which I started working as a taxi driver.
Yo trabajé durante muchos años como supervisor de planta en una compañía farmacéutica, pasé buenos momentos allí y tal como pueden imaginar también obtuve estabilidad económica, recibía un buen sueldo, tenía vacaciones pagadas y prestaciones sociales, sin embargo, luego de un tiempo descubrí cuan frágil es esa "estabilidad" que yo creía tener, de pronto fui despedido tras un recorte de personal, y esto sucedió en un muy mal momento ya que mi esposa estaba embarazada y a punto de dar a luz a mi segunda hija, sin embargo, luego de conversar con alguien, esta persona arrojó luz sobre una nueva posibilidad, trabajar por mi cuenta como taxista, al inicio yo no estaba muy seguro al respecto, estaba acostumbrado a recibir un salario fijo y a los horarios establecidos, pero luego de tocar las puertas en varias empresas con mi curriculum en mano sin obtener respuestas, no me quedaron dudas de que debía intentarlo, fue así como usé parte del dinero que me dieron en la empresa y compré un nuevo auto con el cual comencé a trabajar como taxista.
I'm not going to lie to you, it was a very stressful job because it involved being in traffic all the time and often dealing with hostile customers who I had to put in their place from time to time, but at the same time this activity allowed me to be my own boss and set my own work rules, I could decide what time I started my working day and what time I finished, I could even decide which clients to work with and which not to work with, set my own rates and of course this gave me much more freedom than I had in the company, although of course I no longer had health insurance and other benefits but I liked the fact that I knew that I was no longer accountable to anyone for my work and much less could I be fired because I was my own boss. Every beginning is hard and of course there is a lot of uncertainty, but later on you discover that you are stronger than you thought and that when life closes doors, windows appear on the other side. Nowadays I no longer work as a taxi driver but I have good memories of that time when I also had good experiences and met wonderful people with whom I established good friendships, so all this allowed me to discover that I definitely liked working on my own more.
No les voy a mentir, fue un trabajo muy estresante porque implicaba estar todo el tiempo en el tráfico y muchas veces lidiar con clientes hostiles a los que yo debía poner en su lugar de vez en cuando, pero al mismo tiempo esta actividad me permitió ser mi propio jefe y establecer mis propias reglas de trabajo, yo podía decidir a que hora iniciaba mi jornada y a que hora terminaba, incluso con que clientes trabajar y con quienes no, establecer mis propias tarifas y desde luego esto me brindaba mucha más libertad de la que tenía en la empresa, aunque claro está que ya no contaba con seguros médicos y otros beneficios pero me gustó el hecho de saber que ya no debía rendirle cuentas a nadie por mi trabajo y mucho menso podrían despedirme porque yo era mi propio jefe. Todo comienzo es duro y desde luego que hay mucha incertidumbre, pero posteriormente vas descubriendo que eres más fuerte de lo que creías y que cuando la vida cierra puertas, por otra lado aparecen ventanas. Actualmente ya no trabajo como taxista pero tengo buenos recuerdos de esa época en la que además pude vivir buenas experiencias y conocer gente maravillosa con la cual establecí buenas amistades, así que todo esto me permitió descubrir que definitivamente me gustó más trabajar por mi cuenta.
