Today's post is an attempt to answer this week's prompt by the Ladies of Hive Community. The content of this post shall answer the following question.
Today's world is full of stress, deadlines, and way too much to do! What is your number one stress reliever that you depend on to make it through?
In today's fast-paced world, stress has become an unavoidable part of our lives. Whether you're a student, an employee, or whatever you are right now, I know for sure that you have deadlines to catch up with and a list of never-ending to-do tasks to tick off. This overwhelming amount of responsibilities can easily cause anyone to be burnt out.
Over the years, I have found a few effective activities to help me find my balance in a very hectic world. I know the question only asks about my top one stress reliever but because I want to be ✨️extra✨️ I'll be enumerating my top 3 happy pills, because why not? And who knows, these might as well be helpful to someone out there.
#3: Creating Digital Arts
When the global pandemic hit in 2020, I discovered a new hobby, which helped me relax during that very stressful period in our lives. I started creating digital arts simply out of boredom. Wayback then, I never thought this hobby would later on grow on me and have a positive effect on me, especially with my mental health.
Creating arts is like a form of meditation, allowing me to focus on the present moment and to let go of negative emotions and thoughts that's been weighing on my mind. I find the entire creative process to be very calming: from blending different hues and colors, forming shapes, and so much more!
#2: Reading A Book
Whenever I need a break from screens, you'll probably find me curled up with a book, my imagination wandering off this world.
Since my teanage years, reading has always been my source of comfort and solitude. It's like escaping the world without physically escaping it. It's like time traveling, whether in an unrecorded event in the past or in an unexpected place in the future, who knows? And that's the magic of reading: getting lost in fascinating worlds of fiction and getting hooked with near-to-perfect characters. Reading allows me to reset my mind and help me spark my creativity.
#1: Cuddles With Loki!
Last, but not the least: perhaps, the most undeniably comforting stress-reliever of all time is spending time with the cutest and most huggable member of our family – Loki! Ta-da! ✨️
Our lives have been so much better when Loki came into the picture. There's a special kind of tranquility that comes with cuddling with him. And mind you, he never complains at all! He would gladly let you cuddle him for as long as you want, he's always up for it! Isn't he just the sweetest boy? 🥹
He may not be able to say it in words but his love and his joyful energy has become one of my constant sources of comfort. Hugging him definitely melts away all the stress in the world!
In a world that’s often overwhelming, finding these small but meaningful ways to unwind has been essential for my well-being. I'm grateful to have discovered these activities as they help me stay grounded and navigate the demands of everyday life with a little more ease.
