I found these little guys on my walk this afternoon. Lestes praemorsus, commonly known as the scalloped spreadwing, is a species of damselfly belonging to the family Lestidae.
I love those eyes, beautiful as sapphires. The thorax is chalky blue, and the tail is long like a golf club.
I noticed several of the same damselfly perched on grass that appeared on the surface of puddles. This is another damselfly species that I have spotted for the first time.
