Hello Hivers! This is a beautiful street of Port Harcourt.
Since no one can tell what their next second would yield is enough reason to be meticulous in our dealings.
For those that know Port Harcourt Nigeria, you’ll know this is the Artillery to Eleme Junction road. It’s an important transportation route in the city, connecting several key areas within Port Harcourt (The capital of Rivers State). This road is one of the major routes used for traveling to and from Port Harcourt, and neighboring areas, including Eleme, home to several industries, such as the Port Harcourt Refining Company, Notore chemical industry, and the Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals.
Its proximity to the Port Harcourt International Airport is a 30-minute drive which also makes it a crucial route for travelers.
The road is strategically significant for the oil and gas sector, as it provides access to industrial zones involved in petrochemicals, refining, and other manufacturing activities such as Urea, farm products, etc.
It’s obvious that one cannot be careful enough but avoiding little things like this can save our lives. Whenever I’m not driving but on transit, I always make sure to walk on the opposite lane that helps me see the car coming in front. I find this tip helpful ‘cause I get to see the vehicle coming and if the driver misbehaves a little, you’ll be able to get you out of the way thereby avoiding the incident that could have deleted you out of this beautiful world.
On this day these gentlemen were taking a stroll to their destination on the “right lane” and if not for the tire screech sounds and honks that alerted them how reckless and ridiculous a driver behind them was, trying to overtake two cars on speed at the same time, it would have been the end of their existence on earth.
Most roads on this part of the world don’t have barricades that would prevent careless drivers from getting access to the pedestrian walk and cutting lives short. These careless drivers 95% of the time get away with the accidents, leaving folks lying lifeless on the floor without calling the ambulance or hospitalised.
Not saying this is the right way for pedestrians to walk but it’s a tip I usually use while walking in order not to be caught off guard. And since everyone that leaves their house in the morning always has plans for dinner, the next day, and Friday, I’d recommend this helpful tip i use while walking on the road even if it’s to buy or pickup something down the street.
When you’re walking and have the cars behind you, one of the drivers could be lackadaisical without your knowledge and that can lead to the end of you. This event would leave your folks traumatized with a deep hole in their heart that would take lord knows when it’d heal.
So for the pedestrians, let’s try to apply this helpful tip inorder not to be caught off gaurd especially as we’ve entered the bull run.
Thank you for stopping by. See you in my next post.
