February 6, 2023, a day I will never forget, the city of Hatay was shaken by a devastating earthquake and I had the chance to escape at the cost of my life. However, the experience was so traumatic that it will take me a long time to come to terms with what happened.
I was working in my office when the ground started shaking underground. At first I thought it was just a small tremor, but as the shaking got stronger, I realized that it was something much more serious. I immediately grabbed my coat and ran out of the building, joining the crowd of people pouring into the street.
The scene outside was utter chaos. Buildings were collapsing, cars were overturned and people were screaming in terror. I had never seen anything like it in my life. I remember feeling completely helpless and wondering if I would ever see my family again.
Despite the danger, I knew I had to find my mother, father and brother. I stood out from the crowd and finally found them huddled together in a nearby park. We hugged each other tightly and shed tears of relief.
After the earthquake, we realized that Hatay was not safe. Buildings were damaged, there was no electricity or water. We made the difficult decision to leave the city and go to Kütahya, my family's hometown.
The journey was long and difficult, but we finally arrived in Kütahya today. It was a nice change from the destruction and chaos we left behind in Hatay. But I know it won't be easy to start over soon, but we had to rebuild our lives from scratch, find new jobs and a new place to live.
Despite the difficulties, I am determined to make the most of our new life in Kütahya. I must work hard, but I must definitely succeed in rebuilding our lives.
However, the memory of that day in Hatay still haunts me. I often think about the people who were not as lucky as us, who lost their homes, their families and their lives. I know that I was lucky to have escaped with my loved ones and I am grateful for every day that I have with them.
In conclusion, February 6, 2023 will remain a day that changed my life forever. He taught me the importance of family, love and resilience. It also reminded me that life is precious and should be valued every day. I will never forget that day, but I choose to focus on the positive things that came from it. I will always be grateful to God for the opportunity to start a new life with my family in Kütahya.
