Good morning to you my friends. It's good to have you here in this space. Today is Thursday and we're almost getting to the weekend
As a teen, which I'm, I've seen so many teens in school, and what they're going through in life. As a teen, you will always face difficulties in life, but you must also be able to overcome them.
Today, I will be speaking on depression among teens. This is the time when teens do whatever their fellow teens are doing all in the name of depression.
I was passing by the faculty of art library a few days ago, and as I was passing by, I saw a drawing on the wall. So I was so curious to know what the drawing was all about.
So I decided to go close to where the thing was drawn. When I got closer, I was able to view the drawing, as well as the things that were written on it, and that is what I will be talking about.
Honestly, I didn't give a second thought to depression and its causes. It was after I'd read what was written on the wall that I picked interest in deliberating on that topic because it seemed so interesting to me as a teen.
And I thought as much, to share it here with my fellow teens and also with those who are about to become teens.
Before I continue, I would like to give a brief definition of depression.
What is depression?
Depression refers to the act of feeling sad and oppressed due to some mental health or psychological issues that encamp someone.
Depressions are inevitable. As long as you're in the world, you will surely encounter it. But what would make you victorious is how you handle it.
Depressions don't come on their own because they feel like coming, but there must be something that triggers it. And I will do well to tell us some major causes of depression among teens.

Causes of depression among teens
There are so many causes of depression among teens, especially those who are in college. I will be celebrating more students who are teens.
First: Academic performance. Academic performance could lead to depression. Take, for instance, if a student wrote about five exams in a semester, and at the end of the semester, he or she realized that there are five carryovers in his or her result.
That is to tell you that you have nothing to show forth as a student who's also a teen. How can you fail five courses out of five courses that you were taught?
This alone could lead to depression. It might make you look down on yourself, and you will also see yourself as a failure.
This alone can make you feel sad and even feel humiliated among your fellow teens.
Secondly, pressure to excel in life. This is another major challenge and a cause of depression among teens.
You know we as teens, always think of ourselves and our future every blessed day. We always have that thought because of how things are going on in our present economy as well as our families.
If you're from a poor background, you will understand what I'm talking about. There's how you wake up in the morning, and you notice that you're alone. As in, no one wants to know how you feel or what you want to do to erase the handwriting of poverty from your family.
When experiences like this keep repeating in our lives, it would make us feel we cannot excel even when we are opportune to.
In conclusion, I want to conclude by saying that some depressions come to make us strong. They come to prepare us ahead of our greatness. Never be afraid of depression, and never allow depression to take away your reputation.
Always look for a good way to relieve yourself from some depression so that you won't be badly affected by depression.
