Interview with a Vampire has been one of my favorite movies for a long time because it, among other themes, looks at the thought of living through different ages and what that might have been like.
I think it would be cool to live for a thousand years, although not as a vampire, but also like when there were not so many who lived to a thousand because it would be more fun and like an adventure, similar to the film Benjamin Button.
If everyone lived to 1000, then it would just be standard and quite boring. I could think of some of the adventures I would get into such as trying to cover my tracks when people around me got old and I stayed young. Government agents may want to try and experiment on me to find out why I lived so long like in the film The Age of Adeline.!
In this way, living to 1000 would be more fun and mystical. I would hope that I wouldn't start to find everything boring when I had done everything and visited everywhere. Would I become a big know-it-all and clever-clogs that would annoy the hell out of people?
What if we are already living forever? By that I mean, what if our soul is and maybe we get re-incarnated with new bodies and don't remember the past because of this reason? If we knew everything, life would get boring pretty quickly as there would be nothing left to learn after a while.
Imagine being born and knowing everything already. What would you do? There would be nothing new to discover for the first time or to try things out and find your passions.
If I lived for 1000 years, would my procrastination increase? I can imagine that my To-Do List might become huge with so much time to put things off to.
Now it seems we have lots of time, but compared to 1000 years, it doesn't seem as much. Perhaps we should value time more than we currently do.
What would you do if you could live for 1000 years?
Thanks for reading.
