Let's Talk About Medicine!
There are many things I that, when I think about them, I give thanks to God that I am in this world at the perfect time.
One of the things I am talking about has to do with health care and medical practices, especially as it was done in the olden days by medical practioners of those days.
The Bad Old Days
For me, it is even hard to imagine. But then there are records that exist today that prove that the practice of Medicine was very barbaric (sorry if you find that word too harsh or offensive).
But then, how else would you want to describe a situation whereby someone is subjected to surgical knives for the removal of an ailing organ or part of the body without being given anything to relieve the person of pain?
I wonder how the surgeons of those days coped while hearing the agonising and horrid cries of their patients? Even more than that, I wonder how the family and friends of the patients felt while watching their loved ones undergo such experiences of extreme pain.
I believe that perhaps if not for seeing surgery in those days as the only ray of hope for healing or survival, even the patients would not have consented to the surgery. Alas, it is unfortunate that so many of those cases had negative consequences and eventually ended in the death of the patients.
Why wouldn't there be high mortality, when there were no antibiotics to control infection, antiseptics for sterilisation of medical and surgical tools, and analgesics for pain relief.
But things are different now. Of course, a lot of research work led to discovery of substances that could serve as anastasia during the surgical process.
Modern Day Medicine
The Field of Medicine and Surgery has made huge advances, not only in pain relief and anastasia, but also in advanced diagnostic methods, sterilisation methods and several treatment methods.
Imagine when Artificial Intelligence is playing a part to help in more accurate diagnosis (read about it here ) and also in sterilisation of hospital rooms and equipment (see an example here ).
Alternative Medicine
Even with all the advancement in the field of Medicine, there are still people who would rather try something different from conventional medicine when they are ill. Such people believe in the following:
Food is Medicine, therefore pay attention to what you eat.
Laughter is Medicine, therefore sorround yourself with things that make you happy.
Sounds can heal, therefore listen to music that can raise your vibration.
Personally, I would prefer alternative Medicine to conventional medicine as it is more about lifestyle and energy. Reason? I just don't like popping tablets into my mouth or getting jabbed with a needle, lololol 😅, therefore anything else is okay for me 🤣🤣🤣.
Thanks for reading. This is my entry for #julyinleo Day 27. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments, and I will get back to you.
