My son is in Australia. I am living vicariously through him. So I thought I might as well post vicariously also 😅
He is on a herping trip with a friend.
Herping is the act of searching for amphibians or reptiles. The term, often used by professional and amateur herpetologists, comes from the word "herp", which comes from the same Greek root as herpetology, herpet-, meaning "creeping". The term herp is a shorthand used to refer to the two classes of ectothermic tetrapods (i.e., amphibians and reptiles). - wikipedia
A lot of herping consists of cruising. Driving the right places at the right time and at the right temperatures to find herps. Often times at night which is why there are lots of sunrise shots. Done at night... all night until dawn.
They occasionally visit or at least drive by some famous sites too. Like Uluru. More herp pictures will follow plus he is coming home for Christmas so I'm sure I can get a full photo download if I want.
