One thing that I find common amongst knowledgeable people is that they often try to make it all sound simple when we all know it's not. This leads other naive people to jump into it ill-equipped. In the larger world of crypto, it only ends one way; in tears and losses. But when it comes to Hive, it ends with frustrated users/authors and many many dormant accounts.
Hive is not easy, and neither is it like any other crypto blogging platform. Every step of the way on Hive can be a real hassle without proper understanding or guidance. I learnt this the hard way. From the very point of registration, it can be a complicating menace, and this is why the frontend you choose to operate with is very important. For me, the choice was inadvertently Ecency and I have been grateful for that. Why is that you may ask?
Registration
I spent almost three good days trying to create a Hive account on numerous other platforms, to no success. These other frontends are wonderful in their rights, but it wasn't until I used Ecency, I was able to create an account. I couldn't believe it could be that seamless.

Posting
Since I created my hive account via Ecency, I have posted using several frontends. While each frontend has its strengths, when it comes to ease of writing a post, I still choose Ecency. Take the addition of images, for example, it can be a serious hassle with some frontends, especially if your data connection is not at its best. This is less of a problem with Ecency and has greatly helped me as my data connection is rarely ever at its best.
Data Usage
I have stated above how Ecency helps you with regards to data connection above. Furthermore, I have noticed that Ecency is far less data-intensive in comparison to other frontends I have used. This is significant for a person residing in a country where data subscription can be quite expensive and/or luxurious.
Promotion
Getting your post to viewers can be extremely hard, especially for newbies. This is further so when it comes to being rewarded as the more established accounts, even though few, get more than the lion's share of all rewards. The ability to sponsor and promote posts on Ecency goes a long way in helping users on this front.
Reward Token
Another benefit to using Ecency is the reward, Ecency points. Although Ecency is not peculiar in this aspect, it does offer rewards for basically everything you do on the platform. From posting to commenting, liking, upvoting etc. Everything is rewarded.
These are some of the few reasons why I have chosen to stick to Ecency unless where untenable. Its indeed a great frontend.
