Warhammer 40k - Help for the Groom - The models have arrived and the money has been transferred

Hello all! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa. I have good news! Quite some time ago I started a Warhammer 40k Fund Raiser for a friend who was selling his miniatures because he needed some money to get married.

He needed to make space at his house too.

Well... I now have all the models in my position.

First things first. It was a massive lot worth $580 for the lot. But I did not have the ability to take them all. Through some careful wheeling and dealing I sold off all of the tanks and most of the Tyranids and a few more units and heroes all to make up the money that the Groom needed.

So what was left behind for me? Some models for me and some models that were actually Christmas presents for my sons. I got those early so that the boys could get them on Christmas 2024.

But now I have everything. With wheeling and dealing and an upfront deposit I was able to secure this amazing deal. However, there were some medical expenses my recent trip to the Hospital incurred on my. Besides the fact that there were wound dressings and the like that does not fit into my normal budget, there is also a bill that I have received now from the Anethetist where my medical aid only managed to cover HALF the amount.

But the hobby fund owes me, my personal funds. I would have liked to wait for the Bull Run to sell my Hobby Fund Hive, so used HBD for now until then, but this bill is too big and since I owe myself that money, I will have to sell some but not all of the Hobby Fund Hive. So my totals in my next Warhammer 40k - Hive Savings Fund post will be drastically different!

My belief is that Health comes before Wealth and both come before Hobby.

I have to prioritize the practical stuff first.

I will survive, I will live to blog another day and to regain and rebuild whatever of my Hobby fund I end up using now.

The amount that I needed to pay in total was R10,500/$585. I sold to others and got a total of R7,000/$390 from others. The amount I needed to pay myself eventually is R3,500/$195.

Let's see what I managed to get for that... I am going to look at the Warhammer.com store and then total it all up

2x Redemptor Dreadnoughts - 2x$79 = $158

Librarian in Terminator Armor - $40

Captain in Terminator Armor - $44

2x Terminator Squads of 5 - 2x $60 = $120

Subtotal = $204

Chaplain Grimaldus and Retinue - $58

Roboute Guilliman - $70

High Marshall Helbrecht - $58

Black Templars Sword Bretheren $62.5

Black Templar Primaris Crusaders - $62.5

This is Matthew's Dreadnought that I bought for him from this lot A new one costs: $70

And this Screamer Killer became Meren's. This one costs $70 new.

Grand total: $813 + More.

This equates to R14,544 for which I paid R3,500! Serious gains!

Now I need to draw out the funds I need for the doctor and then work on growing my Hobby Fund again!

Like I said, keep an eye on the new week's Hobby Fund report!

Thank you for reading this post!

Cheers!

I remember reading some of your previous posts about this initiative to help, it's interesting to know the progress of all this.

I wish you that the sales are completed, that you manage to consolidate your funds again (both medical and hobby), and that everything (in general) goes well.

Thank you. That means a lot to me!

Yeah, it's a bit sad that I have to liquidate some of the funds now, but health first. And personal before hobby.

It is not as though I will run out of things to paint!

Nice buddy The imperium is growing
