I remember the night I felt so tired and needed to rest after the day's hard work. The only thing that kept me awake was the fact that I was feeling very hungry. I had to choose between sleeping first or cooking and I chose cooking first. I decided to cook rice because I felt that was the easiest food to prepare quickly in my house at that moment because my noodles had finished. While waiting to parboil the rice, I chose to stand and wait instead of sitting down or lying down because I was feeling dizzy and I know that any small amount of relaxation will make me sleep off. After I had rinsed the rice, I put it back inside the pot and added some water to it. I in fact put enough water inside the pot so that before it's completely dried the rice would have been good enough to be brought down.

After I had placed the pot of rice on the fire and stood beside it for some time hoping I could have enough energy to wait till the food was done, I figured out that I was weak and needed to sit down. So I went and sat down on a chair. I kept watching the rice from a distance until I was very much discomforted and needed to rest my back because it aches. One thing I did was to set up an alarm on my phone, my plan was to have something that will help me wake up as informed of a backup incase I couldn't wake myself on time.
One thing I did was to set up an alarm for a thirty minute countdown. The next step I took was to make sure the alarm volume of my phone was increased to its maximum. After this, somehow I had a little confidence within my mind and I believed that even if I fall asleep I can still wake up to Remove my pot of rice from the fire.

I went on the bed and laid down just by the edge of my bed. I know the quantity of water I added would last more than thirty minutes for sure before it gets completely dried. Laying on my bed, I put all my will and effort to keep my mind focused on my pot of rice. I even placed a picture of my pot of rice inside my mind. Within a short time period, I opened my eyes and it shocked me to realize that even though I was seeing the image of my pot of rice that my eyes had already closed without my consent. I then decided to be more conscious not to close my eyes, before I realized I had closed my eyes while it seemed as though my eyes were open. I now made the final decision to take a nap so that I will be relieved for a while after taking a nap within the little minutes left.
Immediately I made this decision, my mind immediately felt relaxed and I didn't even spend another five seconds before I entered the dream world in my sleep.

Before I started coming back to consciousness I had been wondering where the burning smell was coming from and it was in fact becoming more real to me because the more I perceived the burning smell the more I woke from sleep. Soon my eyes were open and it was clear to me that the burning smell was in fact being perceived in reality. It took me another second before my heart skipped as I remembered that there is a pot of rice I left on fire. I almost flew to the kitchen and in the kitchen I saw thick white smoke coming up from inside and underneath the pot. I was very troubled within my heart so I first of all went off the source of ignition before pulling my pot down from the fire.
The handles were so hot in a way I didn't expect and it burnt my hands because I didn't spare any time to pick up any gloves or foam to pull the pot with.

After putting the pot down I decided to assess the level of damage, what I figured out blew my mind. Though it appeared as if my pot was already melting in the way I saw it before bringing it down, it happened to be that the white rice I was cooking in the clean pot is now dark in color and a rice with delicious aroma was now one with a choking smell. I learnt my lessons that day and ever since then if I feel sleepy, I will first of all sleep before doing anything that might result in danger without my attention or observation.
The lesson I learnt was not to sleep while cooking because it's better to turn off the ignition source even if the little amount of food will spoil, it is better than burning down the whole house.
Another thing is to take proper safety measures, at least protect your skin before going near to fire or any place or object with high temperature.

In Conclusion
It is better for us to take good care of our health and not to overwork till it gets to the point we're we feel completely useless and exhausted.

It is also wise to assess ourselves and know the kind of tasks we cannot be able to finish when embarked on so that we can help avoid greater calamity.

Sleeping hungry may not kill you but taking on a more serious task that needs our attention while we sleep can kill us and even destroy more lives and properties.

It is better to turn off the light on any food when feeling dizzy than to leave it ON, it is better to lose a cup of rice than to burn a bag or rice with all the ingredients and furniture in the house.

It is good to take all the preventive measures to avoid an issue that results in forever regret.
