UK Clothes Shopping Is A Struggle

Size factory has clothing from XL up to 10 XL and I know I will be sorted out next week.

Today I was trying to shop for clothes and "trying" is a good word because it was a serious struggle. I am not fat or overly big but I need a certain length trouser leg being 6ft 5 and a size 40 waist. Shops in the UK seem to cater up to 38 and that is it. Shoes which I luckily do not need only go up to 12 if you are lucky and I need a 15 or 16 depending on the brand. I say I am not looking but then again if I come across something I really like I know I will just buy them.

I think this not being able to get what you want has been with me since I was 14 years of age when my feet were already size 14. Not being able to get what you wanted and having to accept whatever fitted has made me be this way today. I think anyone who can afford something nice for once should be able to get what they really want.

In the past there was one store that I could use called High And Mighty, but that closed down in 2018. If you need larger clothing you have to go online and that does not work for me as the sizes vary so much I would be sending 90% of the items back. I am not a brands person, but lately I know certain brands have a certain cut and how they fit and why I do now have a few favorite makes.

I did find one pair of jeans that fit me and I had to drive to Oxford to find that pair. My family was not complaining as somehow they managed to kit themselves out nicely at my expense. They have been given a budget and basically have already spent their share for this leg of the trip.

Next week in Paris I have a secret weapon in a chain sore called Size Factory and I am now banking on them for my shopping needs. I stopped buying clothes in SA 10 years ago because one the quality was not great and the fit was terrible. Only when you find something that fits you like a glove do you realise how bad all the other stuff really is. Maybe I have become fussy over time, but I refuse to settle for second best these days.

I have already checked out Size Factory's website and know I am sorted even if it costs me a little more than previously planned. At this point I honestly don't care as I have given up looking in the UK and will now wait for Paris. I literally arrived with an empty suitcase and I plan to fill it so I am sorted for the next few years.

Finding the right fit can be such a hassle, especially when options are so limited in stores. Perhaps as things advanced they'll develop technologies that make things easier

What a view and I wish you a good day for today.

Most US stores are the same way only going up to 38 unless you get lucky or order online. I wear a 40 or 42 depending on the brand, so most the time I am out of luck. It's disappointing.
