EITHER YOU SACRIFICE OR YOU BE THE SACRIFICE: My Reflection.

in #hive-126152last month

If you don't sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice.

Sacrifice is an essential ingredient that separates those who achieve their goals from those who don't. It's the bridge between desire and reality. When you want something, you must be willing to give up something else to get it.

But then what is sacrifice?

Sacrifice means giving up something valuable for the sake of something else. It involves letting go of comfort, time, or resources to achieve a greater goal.

Take for instance, someone like me, when I wanted to go into improving my skill on writing, I had so many distractions, I could come back from work and school (Back then) and feel very exhausted, I would choose to watch movies for long hours or I fiddle my phone but then I asked myself, the time you used in watching movies and fiddling your phone for nothing can be used for something productive. To cut it short, I sacrificed my movie time and took a course on writing. I stayed consistent and I'm still in the process of learning.

It made me remember great minds like J.K. Rowling, who sacrificed financial stability to write Harry Potter and is now a billionaire author, including Thomas Edison, who sacrificed sleep, working 20 hours/day to invent the light bulb, and Oprah Winfrey, who sacrificed comfort, overcoming poverty and abuse to become a media mogul.

If you're not willing to put in the effort and make sacrifices to achieve your goals, you'll ultimately lose the very things you desire.
In other words:Sacrifice now (time, comfort, etc.) to achieve your goals. If you don't, your goals and desires will be sacrificed (lost) later.

Some reflection questions you should ask yourself are:

  1. What am I willing to sacrifice for your goals?
  2. What comfort or pleasure are you holding onto that's preventing you from achieving your dreams?

Think about it and I hope you work hard towards achieving your dream.

All the best.❤️
