Dreams, Gratitude, and the Road Ahead

I am deeply grateful to God for allowing me to see another year with my family. For those who did not live to witness this new year, I pray that God forgives their shortcomings and grants them eternal rest. This is especially for those who tragically lost their lives in a car accident during the recent staff audit exercise. It was a heartbreaking incident, and yesterday, I witnessed their burial. The atmosphere was filled with mourning and weeping as people bid farewell to the deceased. Many of the victims were newly employed staff, which makes the loss even more painful.

The tragedy reflects the glaring issues in our system. Our government continues to show little concern for the welfare of its people. However, we, as citizens, are not blameless. Many of us make decisions based on sentiments, tribal bias, and favouritism. These attitudes contribute to the perpetuation of corruption and negligence in leadership. Unfortunately, the dead have now paid the ultimate price for a system marred by government failures and the complacency of citizens who benefit from corrupt practices.

Despite these sad events, I choose to shift my focus to personal growth and development. Last year came with its share of challenges, but it was also a year of significant achievements for me. I am particularly grateful to God that no member of my family passed away. The difficulties I faced during the year were not meant to break me but to strengthen me and prepare me for greater things.

As I step into this new year, I have a clear vision of what I want to achieve. I believe that with perseverance, determination, and God’s guidance, I can accomplish all my goals. One of my top priorities is to further my education by pursuing a master’s degree abroad, particularly in a Western country. I believe this will open new doors for me and provide opportunities for personal and professional growth. Another important goal is to make a breakthrough in my career, achieving greater success and fulfilment in my current job.

This year, I am committed to making steady progress toward these goals. I understand that challenges may arise, but I am determined to overcome them with resilience and faith. Looking back at last year, I am inspired by the accomplishments I achieved and the lessons I learned along the way. These experiences have prepared me to face the future with confidence and hope.
