ART EXHIBIT KITA2KITA 2023 | LA HERENCIA DAVAO, PHILIPPINES

in #hive-126773last year
Our school's fine art association planned to have another art exhibit here in La Herencia for UM fine arts students and alumni. I was invited since I'm a graduate but I had to think if I should join or not because my artworks are in Bukidnon and not here in Davao. I tried making a painting but it wasn't done on time, because the exhibit is starting a week before I decided to join in. 😆 I know, such a late decision hahaha!

I lost hope of finishing the artwork I was working on due to the short time, so I informed my friend who was in charge of the exhibit, 2 days later I received a message from a colleague saying I have a painting in stock at school and he hopes I will join again with that painting which I agreed.

KITA2KITA is the title of the art exhibit, it's actually a second series, I didn't enter the first KITAKITA exhibit 2 years ago because I was so far away to join. Why is it titled like that? Kita means to see, other than seeing artworks in the exhibit it can also be a way of seeing each other in person, like a gathering of all artists and art appreciators.

When I came inside the exhibit area which haven't started yet, my friends whom I haven't seen in a long time were around which made me so happy to see them. they were surprised that I was around since I usually come and go to the city, I told them I'll be staying for a month then go back to my hometown and then come back again. 😆

We had a little program before opening the exhibit like a thank you message from the art association president and some of the guests and sponsors for the success of the event.

We have delicious cocktails too, so guests can eat while looking around

merch made by the artists got displayed too, while I was looking I can't help but think of @jijisaurart because I see kikis delivery service since Jiji like studio ghibli at the same time digital artworks of the last of Us series, another favorite movie of Her.

One of our bloggers in the blockchain @jacinta.sevilla displayed her beautiful pearls as well. Jacinta was a former classmate in my first year in fine arts, she was the person who told us about steemit blockchain, now Hive.

I recently join the community ART PARK on Discord invited by @jijisaurart which was the first time I met @crimsonowl-art who, I later found out is a very close friend of Jacinta. What a small world because I have been acquainted with crimson-owl for buying her drawing tablet in person and didn't know she's also a blogger and anon in the blockchain ~ jiji even jokes I've seen 99% of the anon she knows in Discord and she's the 1% that I haven't seen yet. HAHAHAH so true!

you are always my number one ~ madam ji 😌 charot! 😆

ARTWORKS

I moved upstairs to see the painting displayed, I wasn't around in the ingress because I live far away and had to ask a favor to my friend to attend for me, so these paintings are new to see.

my painting is in the second picture above the work where it has a carabao, a woman with doodle clouds and rain.

To be honest, I'm not too proud of that painting, guess why (if you guess the reason, I'll give you 2 hive) well I have tons of paintings that I'm not proud of producing, and this is one of them, I later found out from the person in charge of the exhibit that there was a person who inquired in buying it, a boost of confidence in my part because someone would still appreciate something I hate.

I also wonder, if saying this would lower the value of that painting. I just realized writing this now 😅 even so, I'm just being honest with what I feel about it.

more paintings from my classmates, I'm very happy to join an exhibit together with them.

this animated painting of mebuyan caught my attention, the goddess of the underworld is in the bagobo tribe's beliefs.

Mebuyan has so many breasts, so she can breastfeed all the unborn children coming into the underworld, You can search for it more if you are interested in her story.

took a picture of my close artist friend @nagaer together with his painting, this friend of mine is a very hardworking person and is very good at everything about art. I have always admired his skills since we were in college, and I'm happy to have a friend like him! he'll be a famous artist someday, so watch out y'all.

Play Merry-go-round of Life by Joe Hisaishi as background music for this sculpture!

kudos to the artist who made this sculpture of howls moving castle, I know how it takes so much time and patience in creating such detailed work.

Happy to be able to join an exhibit alongside my co-fine artists again and to meet friends who I haven't seen in a long time.

THANK YOU FOR READING!

I was sad coz I was not able to visit the exhibit!! bawi next life 🥹

hahaha sureness

Those art pieces you've produced that you "hate" or not proud of... there will be people who will find them beautiful. I really hope it will come to a point where every painting you create, you will shower them with love or if not, then some bits of optimism, amusement, curiosity, and admiration. All these feelings and emotions will always flow through your art and then to the eyes of those who gets the privilege of seeing your work. You never know whose life you will touch or emotions you evoke from a person just because your art was full of such strong and positive energy.

claire! 😭 thank you for this, I'll keep this in mind while I paint, love you and miss you so much!!!

What an awesome art show! I think your painting is great, by the way. <3

I smiled when I read the explanation of the title of the exhibit from 2 years ago, it is just so brilliant! It made me realize that oftentimes, the artists behind those artworks were never seen by the people or have never been acknowledged for their works. And if there is something that I gained from this is that there are things that are not great for our eyes but there are people who have their eyes on it. Just like in your painting.

thank you so much for this!!! 😍

Knowing that there are people who love something we weren't proud of changes our perspective on it. It's like another person saying they love our flaws. Unbelievable at first but it's wonderful, isn't it? Eventually, you'd learn to love those flaws too.

The reason? You made it with your ex? HAHAHHA Perhaps you ran out of time? 😅

Luv the sculpture of Howl's Moving Castle!

awww c I really like this 😭 like oo nga no? you gave me an idea of it too *sniffs 😣💕

hahaha almost! but yes I made it while thinking of her like it was in my heartbroken era hahaha I'm giving you the reward since you're the only one who tried guessing and I doubt another person will try . 🤣

uy yey! HAHAHA pangalawang beses na ako nananalo sa guessing game sa blogs wahaha una ung kay witty 🤣 Thanks, Jude!

ahahah my pleasure c ! 😍

The Mebuyan painting sounds so interesting. When you said that you have paintings you're not proud of and someone appreciated it; well, there is a saying,"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

ahaha i never thought i'd see the day someone would use a quote that I usually say to other people nyahahah you made my day po.. thank you so much!!

hahaha what a coincidence!

Ang Ganda Naman Ng mga gawa nila, sayang di mo natapos Yung ginawa mo for sure maganda din Yun.

Ang Dami din palang mga artists na nasa hive. Iba talaga mga talent nyo. Keep it up.

thanks ate 💕

Interesting works.

thank you

As a non-artist, I always envy the skill and talent of those who can create such things beautifully. Beauty is really in the eye of the beholder.

I like art, and actually want to invest on such. As you may know, artworks are considered as an alternative asset class (for investments). For collectors/buyers, what they usually ask is the context/history of the painting; it may be the thought process or artist's interpretation. But of course, it can be reinterpreted in a different manner and that is cool as well. :)
