Sunset in the polder
A lot of time when I go for a walk or a ride on my bicycle I try to be aware of my surroundings. Because of that I often see interesting things which I then try to capture with my smartphone.
In this blog I will share you one of the photos during my trip.
For as far as it isn't already visible I'll explain what you see, why I took the photo and share some technical details of the shot.
About the photo
I took this photo last week when made a walk in the evening. I had quite a busy day at work and a walk is always nice to clear the mind.
For those who don't know me yet could already tell in which country this photo is taken; The Netherlands. There are about 1200 of these old windmills in The Netherlands. I started my walk just before sunset on a warm summer day. When I walked along the polder I noticed the sky was slowly turning orange. Every sunset is different. Sometimes the sky is orange and red and sometimes there are more purple accents. I really liked the colors that day. I wanted to take a picture of the sky, but I needed something to create a more interesting picture. I placed the windmill in the frame and the reed in the front. I tried to create more depth in the picture with that. I paid attention to have the reflection of the winmill in the water as well.
I'll also submit this photo for the #aroundtheworld contest.
