Almost everyday, @nomaddreamer and I go hiking.
We started this practice for the sake of #Actifit. We learned that the trail through the woodlands right next to our house gives us the perfect amount of steps to easily make our 10,000 minimum goal each day. It fits nicely into our schedule (for the most part), and is infinitely more enjoyable than walking around the streets of our neighborhood.
I didn't realize when we started hiking our trail how much I would come to rely on our trail time for my sanity. I look forward to it everyday and a day doesn't feel right if we can't get to our trail.
Hiking the same path through the woods everyday has helped me to notice the smallest of details. Every change, every new wildlife track, starts to stand out. Every turn brings the chance of something new or changed.
Today's #ozarklife #PictureADay is of an area of newer growth along our trail. This spot was apparently where they put quite a bit of the soil when they built the buildings nearby in the 1970's; you can't see them from this area now. The growth here is completely different than the rest of the woods.
This little glimpse of newer growth and brightness along the trail always brings a smile to my face. Life will always regenerate and cycle through, and each stage of regeneration is beautiful.
