With all the yellow flowers and weeds that bloom around in spring I coould probably have enough material for a month. Seems like yellow is the most colour of choice for the wildflowers that need to draw attention of polinators.
Here is one of them and as I was shooting I managed to count 4 different insects feeding on this type. One you'll see below.
Coleostephus myconis
Also known as Corn marigold is a very popular in the Mediterranean region plant. It can be found in open spaces, lawns, sides of the road and fields. It grows up to 50 cm and each plant can produce multiple flowers. The stems do branch and can bloom at different times.

Even though they can be found in the warmer climate, they prefer the cooler weather to grow and bloom.
They will start their growing season as early as in January when the weather is very mild and with plenty of rains the seeds can sprout.
Flowering starts soon after with a peak in March. By June, when the temperatures rise, they are done. Flowers fade, seeds are produced and dropped and they are ready for the next year.
Not many flowers bloom during the summer here anyway as there is not enough water and happens that it doesn't rains for few months. They have to speed up in spring when they do have a chance to complete the cycle.
This is a young flower and already thrips took over.
