Good morning to my @amazingnature, I hope everyone is doing great. In my last post, I promise to share another plant, planted in my farm.
So today I will be sharing a cassava plant in my farm. Cassava is a major staple food in the developing world. In addition to the utilization of cassava tubers as a staple food, cassava leaves are also used by ordinary people to overcome and treat ulcer disease, rheumatism, gout, diarrhea, fever, headache, night blindness, intestinal worms, and beri-beri disease
Cassava is rich in cabohydrates, and it of benefit to the human health. Some health benefit are;
- Preventing cardiovascular diseases.
- Improving energy and mood.
Helping to manage diabetes. - Promoting skin, nail and hair health.
- Improving digestion.
- Strengthening the immune system.
- Aiding weight loss.
- Preventing some types of cancer.
Another name for cassava is, Manihot esculenta. Cassava has a lot of name, but this is the common botanical name. I love cassava, that is why I choose to plant it in my farm. Cassava can be also processed into food example Garri, fofo etc.
At the other side it is not advisable to eat cassava daily, it is possible unsafe when eaten regularly as a food in large amounts. Children who eat large amounts of cassava may have a higher chance of developing certain paralysis conditions.
