A small fenced dam on a farm and it's fenced to keep the goats in.
It took some work to lure the billy goat and his family to the fence, but a carrot is always better than an empty paper packet.
Wonderful to be out in the open mountain air on a friendly farm that welcomes visitors. They also serve that old farm coffee that one can only find on farms. I know that there is a small dam on the farm with some interesting residents and will now show you the goats at the dam.
Come and have a look.
Nah, although the goat licked his lips, he was not planning to eat the dove. Goats don't eat live animals, although they eat most anything else :)
It seemed like the goat went to the shop to buy a packet of goat biscuits.
But he finished the biscuits and was now trying to eat the packet.
So I whistled and waved one of the carrots that Marian bought for them from the farm shop. The family stood up instantly and made their way over to us. Thankfully he left the packet, and I saw the wind sweeping the packet up.
One has to grip a carrot tightly, as the billy goat tries to rip it out of one's hand.
Marian was feeding the ladies next to me.
The young kid managed to rip a carrot out of her hand :)
The billy goat stood up against the fence as he desperately tried to rip the carrot away, but I would not let go until only the last piece was over. Then I let him have it. Marian was tickling his beard :)
Finally after having a few carrots, the family moved back to the other side of the dam. And what would you call this photo below?
I call it sheer bliss :)
Next time I will show you the White geese with their 5 goslings (babies) at the dam.
I was considering whether I should do this post in the #hivepets community, or in a farming community, but the goats are not pets and I haven't found a farming community yet. In any case I have to show the things that I love and I always try not to upset anyone in the process. Be that as it may, I hope that you enjoyed the photos and the story.
Here's hoping that everyone will have a great new week.
And That's All Friends.
