Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 138

in #hive-1277882 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 138th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

As I mentioned in my latest post, I have been very busy lately and one of the things I got to do during those days was a visit to my Silesian hometown and also to my mum who currently lives in the countryside about a half an hour drive from the town. It was there where I picked the mushrooms from the mentioned post and where I spent some nice quality time with Mother Nature herself. I really like the area, it´s just so green, quiet and peaceful. Cannot be more different from the hustle and bustle of Prague where I´m based right now. I hope you can feel the tranquil atmosphere from the landscape picture that I took during one of the walks. Photo taken in rural Silesia, Czech Republic two days ago.

In the last round, we had 6 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

I live next to the botanical garden, it's autumn... I'm photographing the botanical garden in autumn. They are more like snapshots than some thought-out compositions. Photographed yesterday in the Czech Republic, Prague, Troja.

Hey! My entry is a photo of my dog during our evening walk while exploring a new place. It was taken two days ago in El Calafate, a city in the south of Argentina. Let's see who can spot my dog in the pic, hehe. It might not be the best eye-catching photo of nature but as we are parking at a petrol station these few days so we can work this is the only photo I got in the last few days :)

@tommyl33 with this entry from Malaysia:

This is another entry from Sabah , Malaysia. The two of my dogs looking at the paddy field being harvest a few days ago.

Obrázky jak malované;)🌱🌸

To teda :)

Came across this challenge and I really appreciate this idea of taking out some time for oneself, away from all the hectic schedules of work and other activities, and just absorbing into the aura created by nature. I'll make sure to participate in it.

Awesome, cannot wait to check out your entry! :)

Congratulations to the winners :-)
And I'll add one of my pictures right away.
Sometimes it doesn't hurt to take a late walk. You can then see the last reflections of the sun on the clouds in the sky :-). I managed to take this picture on Wednesday 5/10.
South Bohemia, a few kilometers east of České Budějovice.

Wow, all entries were excellent. Great choices, @phortun, and hope you're having a great weekend there :)
I've missed a few round, and now I'd like join with this very fresh picture just taken a few hours ago when we went out for a walk at the park close by, in Point Cook, Western Suburb of Melbourne. It's very quiet and the greenery is well kept at this park. It's spring here and still a bit cold, but the weather today is great to go out for a walk 🙂

Hi @phortun I'd like to share with you one of my favorite hiking spots. I often visits this place like 6 times already ,whenever I'm so stressed. Wandering in the middle of the forest for me is a stress reliever. This photo was taken today based on my time zone, after I moved in to another house. By the way, this place is called " Twin lakes" for it has twin. If you are a nature lover, you'll definitely love it here.

Hey there! I´m a nature lover and you are right, I really like your secret place :) It reminds me of the Azorean Islands where I lived for some time. So lush, wild, green and pristine :) Btw can you add the location please? Don´t have to be too specific, just the country would be fine ;)

This is located in Negros oriental Island, Philippines. a 25 minute drive from the main road. We have many scenic sights here, I haven't even visited all yet. You are right in describing about nature lush wild , green. In fact you'll see the trees covered in green moss an indication of unspoiled forest. There's something to be said about peace/ tranquil and serenity, so calming to the soul. I'm glad I found people who love same.

Thank you for adding all this great info, now I love the place even more :) Greetings to the Philippines!
