Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 169

in #hive-1277882 years ago

Hey there my Hive friends and followers!

Welcome to the 169th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round. If you want to create a separate post as your entry, you can do that but please always remember to submit your entry in the form of a comment here in this post as well. I only check the entries submitted here as comments.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. I also give some smaller upvotes on the other entries too so that all participants get rewarded for their engagement.

I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

IMG_20230516_142347.jpg

As you might know from my "swan post", I recently visited a very nice and interesting natural place called the Hostivice Ponds but because of the bad weather that we had that day, my landscape shots from that place didn´t turn out well so I cannot really show you how beautiful it is over there. Fortunately, I clicked some close ups too and this kind of photography is usually not affected by poor light conditions that dramatically so I can share one of those shots with you here. I don´t know what species these little beauties are but I liked their tiny green still life :) I took this shot while exploring the Hostivice Ponds, Czech Republic a couple of days ago.

In the last round, we had 6 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

@jlinaresp with this entry from Venezuela:

Here my entry to Round 168! Title: "Yes, it's a Guanaco!" Guanacos (Also called "Llamas") are not the kind of animals I expect to see when I go for a walk in the fields around a nearby town... In fact, this is the first one I've seen outside of a zoo in my country... But there is one, grazing peacefully in a field surrounded by trees and mountains! :) This photo was taken in Aguirre (Carabobo State, Venezuela) on May 9, 2023.

@triplug with this entry from Romania:

I can't help but be part of round 168 especially since it has as its main idea Appreciate Beauty of Nature. The photo was taken a few days ago near the area where I live, I was out for a walk with my dog, I found it very interesting the contrast between the raw green of nature and the heavy clouds that were forecast to come over the village and of course there was a big storm brewing. I was lucky that I was in the car shortly after I took the picture and it started raining in gusts.

@ibbtammy with this entry from Nigeria:

So this is my first time joining you guys over here. This picture was taken when I joined my friend to go inspect the land that he wants to purchase, I looked at how fresh these plants were and I felt so bad for them, in a months or two they will be sent out of this world for humans to build on this same spot were they existed. So sad. This picture was taken on the 7th of May 2023 in a small town name Igbodo of Edo State, Nigeria.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

Sort:

This tree produces a fruit natively called “Ebelebo” over here but it’s English name is Indian almond and this is the only tree where people can easily pluck fruits without the owners of the tree complaining because when these fruits drops it drops in large quantities. So there’s always enough to go round.

This picture was taken today in Benin city, Nigeria.

Beautiful tree, thank you :)

You are welcome

Here my entry:

Currently we are in the middle of the autumn (in the Southern Hemisphere), usually the temperatures are quite mild in Antofagasta, because it is located near the tropic of Capricorn. However this fall has had quite high temperatures. In the photo taken some days ago at the beach after the sunset, you can see people are enjoying themselves near the sea. I know that cargo ships are not ecological friendly, but they are part of the seascape here.

It is. Feel free to join us with your own entry :)

So beautiful flowers, I loved white roses these are looking just awesome. ❤️😍

I cannot see any roses here but thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful shots everyone! Spring is definitely here in the midwest! It seems all of nature is ripe with activity!

Right. It actually starts to feel more like early summer here already, should be 26 C (79 F) here tomorrow :) Greetings from Central Europe to the US Midwest!

That is just about the perfect temp for me!

Thanks for the reweet!

My pleasure friend, It's a nice contest! :)

Okay.... I'll be honest I didn't read much of what you said... Not much at all BUT I do like the photo triplug shared😎 in Romania... Some beautiful landscapes! The green is making me green with jealousy 😂

Thanks for your feedback (and honesty :D)

These Aquilegia vulgaris are blossoming in my garden currently. The best part is, they were not planted, they grow wildly there. And I am always happy when I see them!

Hey there, good to see you here again, this is an amazing flower close up :) I guess the location is Austria but I don´t know how old the picture is. Thanks for the clarification :) Greetings from Prague!

It's such a beautiful idea.

I hope that by next week Thursday, I'll have an entry ready to participate

I read your Hostivice Ponds post though and I did enjoy you talking about the bird and the beautiful dance she did for you guys even though you did not bring her any food.

This is a beautiful addition to that day's experience. They are beautiful shots, thank you for sharing. 🔥

Aww, thanks for checking out that post, very kind of you :) I hope you will have an entry for us later in this round, enjoy your time with Mother Nature!

These are great choices man! By the way @stresskiller I think you might want to join this challenge.

Thanks buddy! I wonder if @stresskiller will join us, I just took a quick look at his blog and he takes amazing natural shots...

Wow :) Why you have so many of them?

in the old steem days we didn't have communities , so i decided to split my content over seperated accounts

I see, makes sense ;)

i'm not really a challenge chaser to be honnest 😁, but since i just got out of the garden with the camera i will see if there is somthing worthy enough to post here

It would be an honor for me to have you participating here :)

I'm sure you have something to share here man, your natural photos are great 😎

Cool close up, thanks for your entry :)

I hope you will make it there, thanks for keeping my contest in your mind :)

Hey there, welcome to the challenge :) There is no need to create a whole post as your entry but if you want to do that, please remember to still submit your entry here in the comment section, just like other participants do it. The comment should include one photo (just one please) and some basic text, at least where and when you took the photo. Thanks for respecting the rules of this challenge :)

This is actually my first time participating in this. I just stumbled upon it some minutes ago.

I captured this picture while out on a hike on Tuesday. The atmosphere was so serene, and the beauty of nature had my attention right from the beginning of the hike.
The hike took place at Ikirike Hills in Enugu State, Nigeria.

I hope you enjoy🤗

Cannot really see much nature in this particular shot but I guess the hike was great and I thank you for joining my challenge :) Greetings to Nigeria!

Thank you very much

I guess I didn't fully grasp the concept of nature you wanted.

I chose it because of the amazing view, I didn't really pay mind to the trees and soil, nature itself.
I'll do better next time.

Thanks for your feedback!

This is my entry. This is my backyard garden in my sweet home. Per day I spent 2-3 hrs time here to take care of it.

Wow, that´s some beautiful lush green wilderness in your backyard! I love it. Can you just add where (location) and when (to make sure it´s not older than 7 days) you took this picture please?

It is in India and taken 2 days back.

Awesome, thanks :)

Congratulations, your post has been upvoted by @dsc-r2cornell, which is the curating account for @R2cornell's Discord Community.

This is adventurous, I will definitely love to participate

Cool, I´m looking forward to checking out your entry :)

Yes, I can't help but attach an image in round 169, even if it's not 100% Beauty of Nature, I hope you like it.
I took the picture just yesterday when I was on business to check something out, so I passed by Zoo Land, a friend's business, he has a few acres where he raises wild animals, even a sanctuary for abused or abandoned animals.
This location is visited by many tourists, even by school children from Arad county.

poza.jpg

Hey man, happy to see you here again! Looks like a 100% legit entry to me ;) The animals might not live completely free but they definitely seem to have enough space to roam and enjoy their lives, save from predators, poachers etc. Very kind of your friend to build this sanctuary.

The pleasure is mine to be here, indeed, my friend is doing an amazing job with that animal sanctuary, if you could only see how happy all the animals there are.

all right you asked for my contribution , not everyone will see it as a beauty of nature

Black ant farming Aphids in my garden :
Sony A7II + Laowa 25mm Ulltra -macro lens shot this morning .

There we go. I love it and I can definitely see the beauty in there :) Thank you very much for your impressive contribution. Just to be sure though, the location is the Netherlands, right?

Yes i'm an old Dutch man living in the Netherlands :)

Hello @phortun, thanks for hosting this challenge!

Here's my entry:

L0009-RedLeaf.JPG
Taken in my back yard in Port Townsend, Washington USA, 18 May 2023

By your suggestion, I out in our back yard to see what I could see in the late afternoon when the sun was low and the light golden. Instead of the "big view" I focused on something close: the fresh spring leaves on our maple trees; sometimes in sun, sometimes in shadow, their constant change reminding me a bit of the reflections on tiny ripples on a lake.

I also wrote a whole post about leaves on my blog:

https://peakd.com/hive-127788/@labyrinths/the-beauty-of-leaves-entry-for-appreciate-beauty-of-nature-with-phortun-round-169

Hey there, welcome to the challenge! That´s a great close up :) Can you just add where (location) and when (to make sure it´s not older than 7 days) you took this picture please?

Thank you @phortun, added the information as a caption below the photo.

In this round I will share a photo of a small dragonfly as my entry for this contest, this photo I took about 5 days ago when I was about to clean some of my plants, and saw it perched on a fence net, and the photo I have edited using picsart so that the photos look even more beautiful, I took this photo behind my house, in Dewantara, North Aceh

Wow, that´s a very nice close up! Can you just add the location please? :)

Here my entry to Round 169!

XBON2-Aguirre.jpg

Title: "Road to silence"
Aguirre is a small town to the east of where I live... It is a town which has suffered greatly the exodus of its population during the last two decades. So, its roads are more and more solitary and silent, surrounded by forest and vacant land... And they are also excellent for going for a walk and taking photos on foggy mornings!... ;-) - This photo was taken in Aguirre (Carabobo State, Venezuela) on May 18, 2023.

Man, I really love the atmosphere of your photos. Very specific, easily recognizable to me :) Almost like your trademark :) Thanks again!

Awww... Thank you very much for your kind comment my dear friend @phortun!... Here it is 6 Am and your comment has made me start the day very well! :)... It is a pleasure for me to be here participating!...

!PIZZA

Wow! Certainly your signature. I like the foggy mysterious feel like effect. Makes.me.wanna follow the trail.😄
