If you are tired of being on land, try it once in a while, take a boat near an island, while enjoying some parts of the island located at the end of the sea, of course it is very beautiful especially being on in the island
Of course, it is very cool to be in a small wooden boat while enjoying the natural phenomenon of the sea near the fishing village. This time I will invite you to see a fishing village that has a small unspoiled island, the result of the remnants of a natural disaster that occurred about 16 years ago, the disaster has devastated several fishing villages, namely Pusong Lama Lhokseumawe Aceh and also several islands that named Dareut Island
The distance between Pusong Lama Village and Dareut Island is about 3 kilometers, if you start measuring from the end of the village to the island door. Although the island is included in the territorial area of Pusong Lama Village, Lhokseumawe, it looks very foreign and looks aloof like a village in an ocean.
The 5-hectare rectangular island is not inhabited by the local community or used by some residents (natives), even the local government is reluctant to glance inside the island.
Why...
This question will be discussed in this community, because the existence of this island is very unique and extraordinary in a natural habitat.
🏝️
Originally formed an island of Dareut
Around 1945 ago, this island was a mound of earth measuring about 100 meters long with a width of about 25 meters with a horizontal shape extending sideways from north to south, while on the west side of the island there is a channel, namely a small river that is about 3 kilometers long in the east. Or starting from the back of the village towards the river (estuary) of the high seas, making it easier for traditional fishermen to go to the countryside when the water is rising.
In the years starting from 1945 to 1989, small mounds turned into large mounds, this was due to the influence of big waves every December which continued to erode the outskirts of Meuraksa Village (northeast region tens of kilometers). Then the mound of the village next door stuck and piled up on the mound of earth turned into a very large island, standing majestically in the middle of the border between Pusong Lama Village, Lhokseumawe, Aceh, Indonesia and the Indian Ocean.
Because the island is still within the fishing village area, namely Pusong Lama Village, Lhokseumawe Aceh, the island is the right and property of the local village even though it is located almost on the side of the Indian Ocean.
In 1989, the author himself had entered the age of 15 years and often was and played in it. So I am very familiar with all the curves and shapes of the island, and coincidentally the author is also one of the residents in the village of Pusong Lama Lhokseumawe Aceh.

Contents and conditions within the island
The author is very familiar with everything that is on the island, both when starting the journey and while on an island. To get to the island only requires a wooden boat (can be borrowed from local fishermen). If you want to start the journey, it only takes about 15 minutes to travel if you use a wooden boat with human power, relying on power to pedal as an engine to carry the boat when the water is high, but if the water is receding, it is very complicated because it faces difficult terrain, so fishermen very rarely do that.
When you arrive at the island area, you will see the entire island is overgrown with every big plant in the form of :
- Coconut tree
- Ketapang Tree
- kolang kaling tree
- and, thousands of wild plants that grow naturally as a result of bird seeds that fall accidentally while flying over the island.
Uniquely, there are no wild animals that inhabit the island from 1945 until the moment this article is read.
Although the island is not inhabited by wild animals and other animals, but the location is a nest for every species of flying insects that have reproduced since the island existed.
Likewise with humans, no one inhabits the island, this is because at this point on the island there is no water suitable for drinking, this is also influenced by the mound of soil that is sandy soil, not yellow soil like in other locations.

In 2004, the island of Dareut was hit by a tsunami disaster
The island, which is so majestic and often used as a local tourist spot for local people, suddenly disappeared and there were only a few large plant debris and a few maggrove plants. All the inhabitants (wild habitats) and even other plants died, and fell apart.
At that time, around 7.30 am Sunday morning, the Aceh region was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of about 9 on the Richer scale, not long ago a large collection of water (tsunami) originating from the Indian Ocean devastated the entire island, even the village of Pusong Lama Lhokseumawe Aceh and several other villages, destroyed instantly.
At that time, the author himself also felt the impact, but luck was on my side and my family, because the almighty was still protecting our family, while the rest of our friends were drowned by the devastating tsunami.
Until this moment, the writer and family still remember very well how the chronology was. I myself saw logs, fishing boats, the rubble of houses, and large animals and people being carried away by something very terrible. It's very sad and sad to be in that state. The writer himself and his family were saved by a large wooden plank which was washed away by the big water.
Likewise, the majestic Island, also disappeared in a matter of seconds, nothing left. If used to see a large mound of earth today when the disaster was taking place, you could only see water and it was razed to the ground.
The majestic island, instantly disappeared with the swift flowing air. At that time there was no longer a pride of the local community, that day looked like the year before the formation of the island. Even the Village buildings also seemed to be lost instantly along with the sorrow and hopes of the people at that time.
🏝️
Today, Dareut Island is back and it looks as grand as it was when it first formed
If in 2004 the island of Dareut disappeared instantly, today is precisely on January 1, 2022, the lost island has reappeared like it was originally formed in 1945. You can see in every picture that has been uploaded in the post, how beautiful a small island with a horizontal shape extends from north to south with a size of 1 kilometer. The size of the area is not yet known, because since it was re-established it is very rare for local people to visit the area. Of course there is a reason why today, local people rarely visit the area, including traditional fishermen.
Even the local village government also closed it to the public, as a location or destination in a local tourist destination, this of course has reasons or facts that are rarely known by the community and even the local community.
Many things have happened on the island, since it was re-formed, and several people have visited the location, but unfortunately in the end their fate was unlucky and died instantly, due to the influence of the whirlpool and rushing water in front of the estuary channel, or rather at the entrance island. The terrifying speed of the water had a high speed. In addition, this river channel is directly connected to the offshore side of the Indian Ocean. To pass it must have a lot of experience in the marine sector. Not to mention the interior of the island which is not yet known with accurate information. So the local government forbids being on the island, except for people who know all the complicated terrain if they want to pass and visit, but at their own risk.
🏝️
Then what about the tragic story that happens when people die instantly and the conditions on the island
Many things often happen when people visit the island, but unfortunately many people do not know about this situation. Some local people are reluctant to visit because of the story mentioned above. However the author will tell you about it.
Will definitely be back in the next post, if you're interested. The reason is not right with the title in this post. Look forward to a sad story and a little horror about the next story, of course....
