First Snowdrops

in #hive-1277883 years ago

A bit early for the time of year but the first snowdrops are already showing themselves here in the Netherlands. I've always enjoyed those fragile little flowers as they mark an early sing of spring. As a kid I always associated them with my birthday as most of the time our garden was full of them near that day.

I found these little flowers in a woodland near my home while hiking. I was happy I brought my macro lens with me so I could take some close-up shots of them. I hope you like them. Have a nice Sunday!

Cheers,
Thijs

Nice pictures. I like it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much!😀🙏

Przebiśnieg - it's one of the weirdest names of flowers in our contry. But it means something like "it pierces the snow".

Interesting! In Dutch they’re called “Sneeuwklokje”. Something like a little bell above the snow. 😉

I see that each language has a little different meaning.

Wow that is early and I’m jealous ! What time does spring usually start over in your country ?
The picture look real nice with the details of the dew.

Thanks a lot! Normally spring starts showing itself half of march early April. Snowdrops are always early but normally they are in February.

Its almost the same as in Sweden but lately the weather has been unpredictable and last year March was very snowy and cold.
