Edelweisses in our garden

in #hive-127788last year

One of my favorite flowers in our garden are Edelweiss, also known as Lion's Paw. I started growing them as a joke, because I wasn't sure that this rare flower would be able to grow at low altitude.

Edelweiss are known to grow at high altitude, in hard-to-reach places and are very rare. I myself had seen it before only once in my life on a mountain hike around Goat Wall in Stara Planina. Then it was very exciting to admire a whole meadow covered with edelweiss on peak The Dog.

A year ago I planted the plant from a seedling. In winter, the plant dried up. Here's how it looked in December:

03 December:

11 December:

23 December:

And so all its leaves withered.

But in the month of March, small fresh leaves began to emerge. And so, little by little, the whole plant revived. My joy was great!

This year I planted a few more tufas.

They are already blooming and decorating our garden. They are beautiful, aren't they?

Rare and beautiful flowers.

I'm not sure this rare flower can grow in the lowlands. Because it usually grows in the highlands with sufficient sulfur content in its habitat. But if in your garden perennial flowers thrive, then you will get a beautiful Edelweis garden that many people can visit.

Regards!

Very pretty and interesting! I have never seen these flowers before!

These flowers seem beautiful to me too, it's the first time I've seen them, it's good that they managed to sprout after the plant dried.

Very beautiful flowers 👍
