In life, you win some and you lose some…

Camping out in the countryside of Colombia, the first week we lost our battle to the mosquitoes 🦟
my body was covered in bites and my ankle was so red and swollen, it was unrecognizable to me.

All the mosquito repellent wasn’t cutting it, even the electric zappers we had installed indoors & outdoors.

Those blood-thirsty suckers came after us every chance they got, stinging us through long sleeves and pants as well as our uncovered neck and face — they showed no mercy!

Then, we put up a mosquito net & temporarily outsmarted them, managing to get a decent night’s sleep.

In our effort to try anything we stumbled up aloe vera by our farmhouse, which I think of as a cure all.

Over the past few days, it’s anti-inflammatory property have reduced the unsightly, angry-red swelling. But then it went further…

By draining it, first, and applying the inside gel to my face, as aftershave, I could feel my skin getting smoother and looking younger, in just a few days!

Not only does it reduce swelling and promote healing, it also supports the production/release of collagen & might can be used to even blemishes and lighten skin.

Ah, the wonders of Nature’s Pharmacy…

Very true, aloe vera is good for so many things it's almost magical! If it didn't taste so revolting, I'd eat it 😄

I, actually, enjoy the taste… Then, again, I might have had it very diluted (and flavored) in drinks that I had 🙃

Yes, the drinks tend to be pretty diluted. Raw aloe vera, straight from the plant is really, really bitter. Unless the variety you have access to is much "tastier" than mine 🤔...

Nope, I think you’re right … Now, I remember purchasing a pricey clear fluid, that I was told to consume by the capful, which was quite bitter.

I believe I was having stomach problems at the time and thought of it as medicine.

Be well 🙏🏽

Tastes awful but it works. Be well as well ☮️

Very informative, awesome post, thank you!! :)

Happy to help, in some small way. But read up on it, too, before applying it everywhere as some people might have allergic reactions.
