I'm so happy to be back to Needlework Monday after a while. Today, I’d like to share the honeycomb-patterned socks I started knitting last year and finally finished over the last few weeks.

Some of you may know I love plants and gardening, and since moving to Germany, I’ve fallen in love with the chubby bees that visit the flowers. Sometimes, I even take photos of them! They are so adorable, collecting nectar without a care, even if the plants bend under their weight 😄

Last year, as a sock knitting addict, I bought a book titled 52 Weeks of Socks, which has many beautiful sock patterns. One of them, named "Imker" (which means beekeeper in German), caught my eyes with its honeycomb design, and I immediately started knitting it with honey mustered colored yarn.

By the time I was still knitting the first sock, winter had already passed. But now that October has arrived, with shorter daylight hours and cooler temperatures, my knitting mood is back! I recently finished the second sock during a long phone chat with a needlework mama friend. These cozy, fluffy socks are going to be perfect for the cold months ahead.

I’ve enjoyed knitting socks using Schoppel yarns with gradient colors, finding the soothing shades therapeutic. But this time, working with a textured motif like the honeycomb was also a lot of fun.

There are still many patterns in the 52 Weeks of Socks book that I’d love to try. After the honeycomb design, I’m thinking about knitting another nature-inspired sock, maybe in dark green with a leaf motif. I also have my eye on making a chunky cardigan to wear indoors during the winter—something warm to throw over my shoulders.

As the colder season approaches, it’s the perfect time to enjoy knitting. Let’s make the most of this cozy crafting season, especially for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere!

Happy Needlework Monday and have a good start of the week 😊

52 Weeks of Socks

I super love the color and the design! It's so autumn~
Those are really perfect for the colder days!

ありがとう!I like this mustered yellow too. Thanks to the book, I got to know this design 🐝 I wonder why I didn't know or try wool socks in Japan especially in Kyoto. Kyoto winter is super cold sometimes. How is it in Tokyo? Still warm, I guess. Enjoy Japanese autumn with tasty food. I envy you for it!

Maybe the design wasn’t so great..? Or I’m not sure too! hahaha
It’s cold now here in Tokyo. Last Saturday was hottest though, 30 degrees then on Sunday it became 15 degrees. The temperature drop was really drastic! It’s super cold because it’s also windy. I’ll definitely enjoy autumn! You too!

The socks is looking so creative. Your crochet is beautiful, keep sharing your creativity.

Thank you @amiegeoffery ! The book is full of sock knitting ideas. I will try some more this season and share the experience to Needlework Monday 🧶😊

These are really beautiful to behold, I love the stitch type and color, I'm also imagining these in blue yarns. That book is really a treasure and you can learn as many stitch as you want from it.
Thanks for sharing this beauty with us.

Hi Monica! Nice to read your comment and blue is a super good idea. Dark blue like indigo is in away our Japanese national color, which used everywhere. And I found I like the African vivid blue too like my new summer skirt 😊

Now I wonder which I shall go for, blue or green ..... So many needlewrk ideas too less time 😁

That's a cute pair of socks! For sure you are ready for the coming winter. I also love the pattern. 💛

Thanks @sydney27! Yes I like both and I'm sure it keep me warm and my mood up over the upcoming seasons 😊 That's wool sock magic.

Wow, what a nice talent you have, the socks look beautiful and nice, and I love the color, welcome back to the #needlework community.

Haha, you don't need talent for sock knitting. Only the heel is tricky. But I'm happy to read your comment. I look forward to post more about my needlework over the indoor seasons!
