Hello needle workers..
It's quite a busy day for me, hence my reason for posting now.
How are you all coping with the orders as a result of the festive period?
There are so people in my area who have started making their outfit for the festive season because they know how busy many fashion designers around get.
Some are too afraid to get disappointed, so they are like the wise virgins preparing themselves before the bridegroom arrives.
Here is Tochi's two piece in a different way. I know that many love their two piece outfit to be of the same fabrics but Tochi rocked a cord lace crop top on a silk fabric as her own two piece.
Well, it came out pretty nice, so let me share the process with you all.
Here is what a cord lace look like. It's a very thick and hard kind of lace and it's always a see through fabric.
Many people prefer to make it without a lining, so that they can rock it with a sequin or a singlet of their choice.
Tochi wanted hers to be see-through as well, which wasn't a bad idea at all. The only thing I used in making the crop top, was a zipper, a matching thread and ribbon to pipe the neckline.
There's a particular scissors I use when cutting hard fabrics like this. And here's what it looks like.
I had to wrap the handle with an African print because it was hurting my hands and giving me bruises.
The struggle we as fashion designers! (Wipes sweat)
The crop top was measured with her bust since it's the largest part of her upper bodice.
The half length stopped where she wanted the crop top to seat on her body.
The sleeve is a basic triquarter sleeve and the neckline is a regular round neckline.
The second piece was a matching trouser and the fabric is the silk fabric.
I used her hip, waist and crotch measurement to achieve the trouser.
It has pockets by the sides, waistband and zipper by the side.
Here's it in full.
Tochi brought three fabrics to make and one is done. Two left to cut and sew. So I took a quick break out of my busy sewing day to share with you one of the three outfits I plan to make to Tochi.
Here's the back view and I'm sure it's looking good already.
What do you think about the combination?
