Hello Needleworkers, hope you had an enjoyable weekend.
I am excited to join the ongoing contest #needleworkyourpet even though I almost forgot.
I had it in my mind to make my dog panties and bowtie for the contest but I kept postponing it because I had a lot of dresses to finish and deliver to my many clients, but yesterday I began to wander on the streets of #Needleworkcommunity my favourite community on the blockchain when I stumbled on the post again.
"Ha! I can't believe tomorrow is the deadline," I whispered and decided to jump on the project because I couldn't afford to miss out on this fun-filled contest.
I had leftover fabric at home, the first struggle was with my mom who wouldn't allow me to use the leftover fabric from one of her outfits, in her words "I can't match the fit with a dog, look for something else please." I respected her wish and decided to look for another fabric for this project.
Before I proceed, I would love you to meet Shadow my pet, she's beautiful, obedient, and very lovable.
Shadow loves kisses and hugs and doesn't joke with meats, especially biscuit bones yes Shadow listens to simple instructions like Sit, Shake me, come here and many other simple instructions.
Before now, I have occasionally made outfits for her especially during the rainy season to keep her warm and loved but today, I decided to make her panties to cover her fine a*s haha, she's a lady for crying out loud, she needs to be covered and then maybe a bowtie to spice it up.
So I finally found a random piece and began my project.
This is a floral crepe fabric, I measured my dog's waist, her waist circumference is 19 inches and from her waist to her tail was about 3.5 inches, the funny thing was how Shadow was just wondering what was going on while I was measuring her.
Well, I didn't mind her I kept doing my thing and then I didn't measure her hind leg, I used my discretion and used 13 inches.
I placed her waist measurement on the fabric and divided it by 4 and then I began to cut and did the same for the hind leg.
From the photo, you can see I added a 1-inch allowance for the back and marked out my 3.5 inches for the tail to comfortably sit.
This is the back piece.
Front piece.
Then I proceeded to cut the bowtie and band for her neckline.
I hopped on my machine and began to sew.
I started with the bowtie and the strap to tie around her neck.
Now I began to sew the panties, I used a little bias to turn the tail hole and the sides as seen in the picture.
And added straps by the sides of the panties.
And now my beautiful pet's two-piece outfit is ready.
The back view, giving the sexy lingerie vibe.
The front view.
Up-close photo of the bowtie.
It's time for a photo session with Shadows but I knew it was going to be a real struggle to get a perfect picture.
#sighs.. It took me ages to wear Shadow this panties, her look said it all.
Caption 1:what da heck is this?
I am sorry my love but you should ask the Admins of the Needlework community. Hehe
She raised her head to show she didn't understand what was going on but I didn't even mind her.
Caption 2: I think the panties are cool though.
Caption 3 I love my bowtie Mom
Caption 4 I gotta pose some more for the camera.
Caption 5 I am tired, give me meat if I must continue this photoshoot.
At this point, I knew she wanted meat so I gave her some.
And decided to create a collage for all the pictures.
Shadow is part of the family and should be treated like one, I am excited she now has panties, hehe.
She is wagging her tail in excitement because she has eaten and has a new outfit too.
The look she gave me, was like I think this session should be over already,
but she managed to give me one last pose.
And that was how she walked out of the camera.
Shadow says Bye, who am I to continue?
Haha, thanks for your time.
All images used are mine and shot by me. The first two images were designed using #canva.
