Hello needle workers..
How is it going over there! Welcome to a blissful month filled with good tidings, vibes and endless possibilities.
In this month of December, I have limited project to share with you, that's because of how busy it would be for me.
I've tried to make lot of clothes over the week, so that I can share at least three or four more projects with you all before the end of the year.
I'll be sharing them in bits. For today, I'll share my favourite Ankara project which was so easy to work with.
The high and low top. One thing I love about the top is the versatility and how stylish it can be.
A top that can be worn on skirt, jean, and even pants. I know versatile clothings are very essential because it serves so many purpose.
This is a dress for my cousin. It's actually a gift from me to her for being such a helpful person over the last few months.
She has been the one assisting me because of my crazy schedule and workload.
I send her errands to the market for fabric sourcing and all and never has she complained for once.
Well, I used just a few things to achieve this top and skirt.
For the skirt, I used a very soft lycra fabric, a zipper and thread.
For the top,I used beads, stones, thread and ribbon to secure the neckline.
The only challenge I had while making the smite was how I had to stitch a lot of things because the fabric was really stretchy.
I remembered a trick, which was using candle on it. As soon as I traced the stitch with a candle..i secured it again with a stitch and that's how It worked.
I used her hip measurement, waist and skirt length only to achieve the skirt.
It's a pencil skirt so it didn't need too much manipulation, not even a dart since it's stretchy.
The top was the best part of the project. I cut it in form of a flare . Highlighting the high and low part of it.
It is a sleeveless top , so I only secured a neckline it with bias to give it a neat finishing, afterwards I secured a stitch at the hem of the top.
The end part was stitching the bead to the sleeve using a hand needle and this was the final look.
Here's the final look. The front view. The top and skirt.
What do you think about the dress?
Images used belong to me, outfit cut and sewn by me.
