I finally got to make a corset top after a year or a year and a few months. I honestly don't remember the exact time I did one last but yeah I finally got to do it again. This is my second time making one and it is for meeeeeeee.
Yup yup you heard it right I made a fit for myself. Soooooo I recently realized that I have a thing for lilac colour. On a normal day I do black, nude or black and white. Just anything and black.
Not really a fan of colors. I'm more of a monochrome person so if I make something for myself you'll see black and white or just black or black and another color but I stepped out of my comfort zone and I found another comfort zone.
So for the longest I think I have had my eye on lilac color. I dunno if my client planned it. I think I posted most of them here. At least the ones that weren't urgent orders.
I made a lilac beach set, a lilac mesh skirt ,a lilac beach wear set, a lilac ruffle hat, a lilac and purple ruffle hat. These are the ones I can remember but that period my shop was a graveyard for everything lilac and I think that's when I started growing some fondness for the color.
Plus it matches my skin well so it's a win win for everybody. Anyways it took a while to get to this design. I mentioned earlier that I first made a skirt to wear to uyo fashion week so I modified the design to a sundress sort of. So this is the first step. Making the tube corset crop top.
Errr I didn't really loosen and redo. I didn't loosen it at all . Actually, I lust went on YouTube and looked for a tutorial that was in English. Fun fact most yeah crochet videos are in Spanish, German I think and Portuguese too especially if it's these corset designs. Buttt I found one that was in English. Listened fir a few minutes at 2x speed then I got what I needed and went back to my project.
I made use of single crochet. Apart from it being sturdy. I pray I used that particular word right. Butttt it also was closely packed soo I won't worry about it being see-through because I had no intentions of lining it. It's hot already and I didn't want to add to my suffering so to say. I got the cups ready and attached the sides to it then proceeded to join the cuts to make it one piece.
Basically the entire top was made in a single crochet. Just to be safe. If laziness and preferences and patterns didn't exist, single crochet stitches and half soluble crochet stitches have always been the best to go for tops.
Anyways once I finished I tried it in and added the ropes just to be on the safe side before I'll make the entire fit and realize that the top was not my size. I'll just sit and cry small before frogging it.
This is part one of this dress and I couldn't take pictures in my mannequin because I wasn't at the shop so pardon me.
I'll drop an update soon.
Things I used to make this corset top:
4.0 mm hook for the top
Stitch markers
4 40g yarns
Scissors
Measurement tape
