Hello hello, I am here again, I hope you had an amazing week because I sure did and in the spirit of excitement I have something cute to share with you all right now.
A while back I got a message from a fellow crocheter, an amigurumi maker actually, she got a message from a prospective client telling her she wanted a crochet sandal for her little girl’s photoshoot and if she ,Oreva, would be able to make something like that. Naturally she said no but she had someone who could make it and then forwarded my number to the woman.
She texted me a few minutes after Oreva had told me the nature of the order and all. I told her yeah that I can make it and we talked specifics for a while.
The color, the size, the little modifications she wanted on her own pair and lastly the flower patches and yeah I did get the order and it was smooth there was literally no back and forth with her.
Once the order was finalized this is where I out myself. I have never made crochet shoes. I had an idea about it but I rarely make new projects or test new waters out of the blue and with kiddies shoes I had no one to make it for so that I can get proper measures so it was something I wanted to try but let's just say that I could not at the time. Lo and behold I got this order.
Honestly orders like this make my day. You know when you want to do something but could not then all of a sudden there's an even better way to try it out. Yeah this is that something right here.
The thing I did not quite understand or let's say I didn't fully understand was the shoe sole. I had a good idea on how to make the rest of the shoe but the shoe sole was tricky.
As you guessed u looked it up on the trusted YouTube, home of everything “how to make” and I saw a tutorial and when better it was for the exact size I needed so definitely win win.
I saw the video and it was easy to understand. I ended up making 6 shoe soles, 3 for each leg. I made the body of the shoe on one sole. Then used a second sole to cover up all the joining under it. Applied gum and added a shoe sole under it. Then the third sole was used to cover the sole and give it a neat finish.
I sew the patches on tge shoe so the part that was left was the straps behind and viola. My first ever crochet shoe was made
