Greetings dear community Happy NeedleWorkMonday, although for me it has been the whole week of needlework, today I share a different publication, it is not the demonstration of a completed project, it is a reflective post, because I have approximately 6 days working continues in an amigurumi that a friend and client commissioned me, it has been somewhat exhausting not because of the difficulty of it but because of the lack of time I have had lately and the deal was made 15 days ago, just in the week that I expected the surgery of my son, so this created more pressure.
Will any of you my knitter friends be able to identify with me? Well, I'll tell you that my friend has been a client for many years and I'm not worried that he won't pay me immediately because I know that the day I need my money he will give it to me in national currency or he will keep it in digital dollars, which is convenient for me because I have no losses with him, however, this time it was different, he paid immediately and I spent the money immediately 🥺, because my son was admitted to the clinic that weekend and there was an overcharge in the clinic because the surgery exceeded the time specified in the bill and also I had to buy medicine, so my friend's money fell like a blessing that day, he told me there was no rush so I focused on my son and his post surgery care.
I started working 6 days ago, the first day I was sick with my allergies so I couldn't touch the thread or the fibers so I decided to just do the wire structure, believe it or not the smell of wire also made me sneeze 🤣, but The next day I started work and managed to make the amigurumi shoes and started making the legs, these are made with two needles and are of two colors, so the process was slow.
I finished doing the complete legs on day 4, the next day I did the arms and the trunk and today I barely had time to finish filling the shoulders and start doing the head.
I must tell you that my client is not pressuring me at any time, however I expected to have a better time performance and it has not been possible, I felt great pressure because few amigurumis have been achieved in two weeks of work, but this will be one of these because it has a lot of details and I already spent the money 😱 Have you felt that pressure? The thing is that I wasn't enjoying the process, I was still striving to make my figure look great, but was I enjoying doing what I love? Well no, today knitting Monday I felt guilty for not giving my work the respect it deserved, my work deserves to be enjoyed and my friend deserves to get an amigurumi made with love and not just with blood, sweat and tears.
The result is just an ephemeral sensation, seeing how beautiful a project was that will soon go with its owner is a precious moment but very short, so you have to enjoy each stage of the realization, see the work in progress and enjoy its lines, its texture, its size and seeing that before it was just a ball of yarn and now it has become something completely different, feeling happy that you are working and that you are investing time in “creating”, not all people can say that they have created something , Creating is a very beautiful verb that encompasses a great effort, so for today I decided to stop knitting, start writing these lines and truly enjoy the process of what I am doing 🥰 I hope to show you the result soon, hugs to all.
