Saludos querida comunidad, finalmente luego de 7 días de trabajo duro he finalizado mi proyecto, se trata de un Mick Mars amigurumi, para quienes no saben el es el único guitarrista de la legendaria banda estadounidense Mötley Crüe, hacer este proyecto es algo que había tenido en mente desde hace un buen tiempo porque un ser querido es fan de la banda, yo me siento muy feliz con el resultado y puse todo mi amor en la elaboración.
Greetings dear community, finally after 7 days of hard work I have finished my project, it is a Mick Mars amigurumi, for those who do not know he is the only guitarist of the legendary American band Mötley Crüe, doing this project is something I had had in mind for a long time because a loved one is a fan of the band, I feel very happy with the result and I put all my love into making it.
Antes de contarles acerca del proceso debo compartir con ustedes mis pensamientos reflexivos y mis emociones con este proceso, soy amante de la música y sobre sobre del rock en muchas variedades, así que además de ponerme a escuchar a la banda mientras hacía el amigurumi, ver de nuevo la película biográfica del 2019 y ver el concierto de 2021, debo decirles que me sorprendió ver el estado de Mick, pues el actualmente tiene 71 años, ese concierto fue apenas el año pasado, obviamente se nota la rigidez avanzada de su cuerpo pero aún así me pareció que es un hombre completamente capaz de llevar a cabo su trabajo y tocar estupendamente, digo esto porque a Micks Mars le fue diagnosticada la enfermedad Espondilitis Anquilosante cuando tenía apenas 17 años, esto es una enfermedad degenerativa que afecta los huesos y articulaciones, causa que sus vértebras se vayan fusionando y poniendo rígidas, el ya en una ocasión fue operado de su cadera.
Before telling you about the process I must share with you my reflective thoughts and my emotions with this process, I am a lover of music and about rock in many varieties, so in addition to listening to the band while making the amigurumi, see the 2019 biographical film again and seeing the 2021 concert, I must tell you that I was surprised to see Mick's condition, since he is currently 71 years old, that concert was just last year, obviously the advanced rigidity of his body is noticeable but even so, it seemed to me that he is a man fully capable of carrying out his work and playing wonderfully, I say this because Micks Mars was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis when he was just 17 years old, this is a degenerative disease that affects the bones and joints , causes his vertebrae to fuse and stiffen, he already had surgery on his hip on one occasion.
La enfermedad ha causado que Mick Mars se mantenga encorvado y que incluso haya perdido estatura, el toca su guitarra pero no se mueve mucho en el escenario por su rigidez y dolor, en el pasado el tuvo problemas de alcoholismo muy serios, además de tomar los analgésicos, ha tenidos períodos depresivos fuertes, pero desde hace unos años se mantiene sobrio, , creo que es completamente comprensible que haya caído en aquellas adicciones debido a que las giras de la banda son un esfuerzo físico que debía hacer con su condición, verlo ahora apenas en 2021 tocando me hizo emocionar mucho.
The disease has caused Mick Mars to remain stooped and has even lost height, he plays his guitar but does not move much on stage due to his stiffness and pain, in the past he had very serious alcoholism problems, in addition to taking painkillers, he has had strong depressive periods, but for a few years he has remained sober, I think it is completely understandable that he has fallen into those addictions because the band's tours are a physical effort that he had to do with his condition, watch it now just in 2021 playing made me very excited.
Antes de empezar a hacer este amigurumi yo ni siquiera estaba pensando en la enfermedad de Mick Mars, solo estaba pensando en hacer esto como homenaje a un gran músico, sin embargo, cuando mis dolores habituales de mis articulaciones se hicieron más fuertes, me hizo recordar como me sentí la última vez que fui a un médico hace muchos años, en aquel entonces ese médico me dijo que yo tenía un tipo de artritis que cuando fuese mayor mis manos se irían deformando, yo solo podía recordar que mi papá trabajaba aún con sus dedos llenos de bultos en sus articulaciones, pero después de aquella experiencia en la adolescencia no quise consultar ningún otro médico y no quise saber si ese médico estaba equivocado o no, solo sé que el dolor se ha agudizado con los años pero ahora mismo no quiero saber si sufriré artritis o no, al estar haciendo el amigurumi de Mick Mars tuve una especie de revelación, pensé que si Mick Mars actualmente se mantiene sobrio y solo tomando los analgésicos recetados para el dolor es capaz de seguir tocando a los 71 años, yo espero seguir adelante tejiendo, mi dolor no es nada comparado a la enfermedad de Mick y para mi el es un hombre admirable, porque a pesar de todos sus problemas sigue haciendo lo que ama.
Before I started making this amigurumi I wasn't even thinking about Mick Mars disease, I was just thinking about making this as a tribute to a great musician, however, when my usual joint pains got stronger, it reminded me how I felt the last time I went to a doctor many years ago, at that time that doctor told me that I had a type of arthritis that when I was older my hands would become deformed, I could only remember that my dad still worked with his lumpy fingers in his joints, but after that experience in adolescence I didn't want to see any other doctor and I didn't want to know if that doctor was wrong or not, I only know that the pain has worsened over the years but right now I don't want to knowing if I will suffer from arthritis or not, while making the Mick Mars amigurumi I had a kind of revelation, I thought that if Mick Mars is currently staying sober and only taking the prescribed painkillers for pain he is able to continue playing at 71 years old, I hope to continue weaving, my pain is nothing compared to Mick's illness and for me he is an admirable man, because despite all his problems he continues to do what loves.
Proceso/ Process
Comencé haciendo las botas de plataforma, cada una esta hecha en tres partes que se cosen, la punta y cuerpo, luego el tacón y la suela, no realicé la parte de arriba porque se tapa con el pantalón acampanado, para ver detalles además de diferentes imágenes vi videos de conciertos, en todos el usaba este tipo de pantalón y botas pero el pantalón era también negro pero bajo las luces del escenario se veía un negro más claro que las chaqueta, así que para crear una diferencia preferí hacer el pantalón con gris oscuro y creo fue una buena decisión, luego la camiseta por fuera del pantalón, además de las estructura general de alambre para para cuerpo, el brazos y cada dedo tiene un alambre por lo que se pueden doblar.
I started making the platform boots, each one is made in three parts that are sewn, the toe and body, then the heel and the sole, I did not make the top part because it is covered with flared pants, to see details in addition to different images I saw videos of concerts, in all of them he used this type of pants and boots but the pants were also black but under the stage lights you could see a lighter black than the jacket, so to create a difference I preferred to make the pants with gray dark and I think it was a good decision, then the shirt outside the pants, in addition to the general wire structure for the body, the arms and each finger has a wire so they can be bent.
Luego hice la cabeza , haciendo la nariz como parte del trabajo en medio de la cabeza, luego hice las orejas, bordé las boca, cejas y cosí dos perlas negras para los ojos, agregué cada una de las hebras para para cabello, luego me concentré en el sombrero de copa, bordé la calavera con hilos de coser y cosí a la cabeza.
Then I made the head, making the nose as part of the work in the middle of the head, then I made the ears, I embroidered the mouth, eyebrows and sewed two black pearls for the eyes, I added each of the strands for hair, then I concentrated on the top hat, I embroidered the skull with sewing threads and sewed to the head.
Mick Mars usa siempre el mismo tipo de casaca negro, pero este varía en pequeñas cosas, algunos tienen botones, otros no, algunos son como un corte parecido a lo militar antigua, a veces es un poco más de corte elegante o gótico, no hice exactamente una casaca en especifico pero si me fijé que fuera del estilo que gusta, con una solapa ancha a la que agregué dos tachuelas y las mangas del brazo con un borde doblado. Por último como toque final maquille los ojos del amigurumi con tiza pastel negra.
Mick Mars always wears the same type of black coat, but this one varies in little things, some have buttons, some don't, some are like a cut similar to the old military, sometimes it's a little more elegant or gothic, I didn't exactly a specific jacket but if I noticed that it was the style he likes, with a wide lapel to which I added two studs and the arm sleeves with a folded edge. Finally, as a final touch, make up the eyes of the amigurumi with black pastel chalk.
Aunque lo he visto tocar varios modelos de guitarra el que más he notado es la Fender Stratocaster y esa fue la que decidí hacer, me sentí muy emocionada de hacer una guitarra por primera vez , comencé por el cuerpo de la guitarra y luego hice el mastín.
Although I have seen him play several guitar models, the one I have noticed the most is the Fender Stratocaster and that was the one I decided to do, I felt very excited to make a guitar for the first time, I started with the body of the guitar and then I made the mastiff .
Luego hice la tapa delantera, los botones de volumen los hice con tachuelas, unas grapas decorativas me ayudaron a hacer el puente y los micrófonos, borde los trastes y las cuerdas con hilo gris, mientras que para las clavijas usé perlas negras de plástico, usé del mismo tipo de perlas para sujetar la correa que hice con hilo negro.
Then I made the front cover, I made the volume buttons with tacks, some decorative staples helped me to make the bridge and the microphones, I trim the frets and the strings with gray thread, while for the pegs I used black plastic pearls, I used of the same type of pearls to hold the strap that I made with black thread.

Mick Mars siempre ha tenido una apariencia muy oscura y con una personalidad un poco reservada aunque para nada aburrida por lo que he visto en entrevistas, si a eso le sumamos que siempre se mantiene encorvado por su enfermedad esto le da un aspecto más oscuro que me parece fascinante. Traté de que el amigurumi se le pareciera bastante aunque les soy sincera, el solo hecho de ser un amigurumi ya lo hace tener un aspecto muy lindo y no se ve tan oscuro como quería 😅 Espero les guste.
Mick Mars has always had a very dark appearance and with a somewhat reserved personality, although not at all boring from what I have seen in interviews, if we add to that the fact that he is always bent over due to his illness, this gives him a darker appearance than I it looks fascinating. I tried to make the amigurumi look a lot like it although I'm honest, just being an amigurumi already makes it look very cute and it doesn't look as dark as I wanted 😅 I hope you like it.
