[ENG-SPA] Needlework Your Barbie Contest: Barbie is Rural Engineer (Part 2)

Greetings, beautiful and creative hive people, especially to those of you in the @needleworkmonday community. I hope you are having a beautiful day. When I decided to study Rural Engineering, I did it because according to the economic level, my parents could not afford my studies in another city, and here at the UNEXPO there was the option of that new career at the university, then I opted for it, I wanted to study Graphic Design. Now after studying each subject for several years, I feel identified with the curriculum. Also, I am a nature lover and I have been in contact with nature since I was a child because my paternal grandfather was a cattle breeder, leaving the legacy to my father, and he is passionate about the countryside and has helped me understand and taught me the importance of agriculture and technology (for example; the use of drones, artificial intelligence) then I have fallen in love with this career. When I heard about the #NeedleworkYourBarbie contest, I was excited because I had many days without posting and it would be ideal to submit a good project and so the idea immediately came to me that I could reflect the engineering profession to my beloved Barbie. I started with the first part which was a bit complicated because I am not a seamstress, but seeing her body and the mold I had seen on the internet I managed to make the pants and shirt. Today I present you the second part which consists of several accessories: a grey crochet knitted helmet, an orange crochet knitted vest, and a pair of brown shoes. Below is a brief explanation of the process.

Saludos, gente bella y creativa de hive, especialmente a los de la comunidad @needleworkmonday. Espero estén teniendo un hermoso día. Cuando decidí estudiar la carrera Ingeniería Rural, lo hice porque de acuerdo al nivel económico mis padres no podían costear mis estudios en otra ciudad, y aquí en la UNEXPO existía esa opción de esa nueva carrera en la universidad, entonces opté por ella, realmente deseaba estudiar Diseño gráfico. Ahora después de estar estudiando cada materia por varios años, me siento identificada con el pénsum. Además, como soy amante de la naturaleza y he estado en contacto con ella desde niña porque mi abuelo paterno fue un criador de ganado, dejando el legado a mi padre, y él es un apasionado del campo y me ha ayudado a entender y enseñado la importancia de la agricultura y la tecnología (por ejemplo; el uso de drones, de la inteligencia artificial) entonces me he enamorado de esta carrera. Cuando supe del concurso #NeedleworkYourBarbie, me emocioné porque tenía muchos días sin publicar y sería ideal presentar un buen proyecto y, por tanto, me surgió la idea de inmediato de que podía reflejar la profesión de ingeniera a mi querida Barbie. Empecé con la primera parte que fue un poco complicada porque no soy costurera, pero viendo su cuerpo y el molde que había visto en internet logré hacer el pantalón y la camisa. Hoy les presento la segunda parte la cual consta de varios accesorios: Un casco ⛑ color gris tejido a crochet, un chaleco color naranja tejido a crochet también y un par de zapatos color marrón. A continuación doy brevemente una explicación del proceso.

🩷HELMET/CASCO🩷:

I started with a magic ring of 6 low stitches, then I made increases, repeated until I reached the height I wanted and then I made the headband and separated the strip of the helmet, sewed it with the wool needle and that was it.

Comencé con un anillo mágico de 6 puntos bajos, luego hice aumentos, repetí hasta alcanzar la altura que quería y luego hice la vicera y aparte la tira del casco, lo cosí con la aguja lanera y listo.

🩷VEST/CHALECO🩷:

This is the first time I made a vest without a pattern, I made chain stitches until I covered the whole waist. I made the armhole sleeve, I made 8 rounds of approximately half double crochet, and finally, I made two decreasing rounds. I knitted the whole contour of the vest.

Esta es la primera vez que hacía un chaleco sin patrón, hice cadenetas hasta cubrir toda la cintura. Hice la manga sisa, hice 8 vueltas aproximadamente de medios puntos altos, por último hice dos vueltas disminuyendo. Hice puntos bajos por todo el contorno del chaleco.

🩷SHOES/ZAPATOS🩷:

For the boots, I didn't have brown cold paint, so I had to combine several paints I had (yellow + orange + red + red + blue = brown). I almost didn't take pictures of the process because it's not a needlecraft and I felt it wouldn't be so necessary.

Para las botas no tenía pintura al frío marrón, por lo que tuve que combinar varias pinturas que tenia (amarillo + naranja + rojo + azul= marrón). Casi fotos no le saqué al proceso porque como no es una manualidad de agujas y sentí que no sería tan necesario.

As I went through the process, I remembered my paternal grandmother, a humble and hardworking country woman. She and my grandfather loved the land and raising cattle. This has motivated me to pursue a career in Rural Engineering.

Mientras hacía el proceso, recordé a mi abuela paterna, una mujer de campo, humilde y muy trabajadora. Ella junto a mi abuelo amaban la tierra y la crianza de ganado. Esto me ha motivado a seguir en la carrera de Ingeniería Rural.

Since I hadn't knitted for several weeks, I felt some difficulty, but little by little I achieved the skill and finished the necessary accessories to complete my project. I also felt very happy about the challenge achieved, I liked how the pieces turned out. Also because I remembered as a child when I played with my doll, but I never thought that as an adult I would make her a pair of pants 👖, shirt 👚, helmet ⛑, vest, or shoes 🥾. Como tenía varias semanas que no tejía, sentí cierta dificultad, pero poco a poco logré la habilidad y concluí los accesorios necesarios para completar mi proyecto. También me sentí muy feliz por el reto conseguido, me gustó como quedaron las piezas. Asimismo porque recordé cuando era niña como jugaba con mi muñeca, pero jamás pensé ya adulta le haría un pantalón 👖, camisa 👚, casco ⛑, chaleco, zapatos 🥾.
