Blessed beginning of the month my dear and appreciated needleworkers, I hope your week has started in the best way.
Today I am very happy to show you my new knitting materials.
As I had already told you in previous posts, I had set myself the goal of using all the material I already had at home before going out to buy new materials.
The main reason I set myself this challenge is because I already had a lot of material stagnating for several months. However, every time I went out shopping, I was tempted to keep buying yarn and wool to put together with what I already had in my box of materials.
On the other hand, I am about to return to my country and packing all that yarn was going to be a bit stressful. After using almost all the existing material, I decided it was time to go out in search of new textures, shapes and colors. I want to take with me different materials that will motivate me to learn new techniques and create new designs.
Last week I went to visit some places downtown that sell weaving materials, both wholesale and retail. I must confess that I felt like a kid in a candy store. It was a wonderful experience, I was able to see and touch materials that I didn't know, so it was a challenge to contain myself and not spend more than I should have.
It was a bit difficult to find summer materials, since we are in the middle of winter and most stores keep everything that has to do with summer and display the merchandise according to the season. But, since we have a warmer climate in my country, it makes no sense at all for me to carry thick and heavy wool and yarns. My idea is to dedicate myself to knit summer garments, such as tops, crop tops, dresses and of course, bags and purses which are my favorites.
I bought only a few balls of yarn in the city center and then I went to visit my friend at the little shop in the market, who treated me with her usual affection and offered me excellent prices so that I could take whatever I wanted to take back to my country. This lady is so kind that she gave me some balls of the Peruvian ribbon with which I wove the purse in earth tones. For my part, I left her my mannequins so that she can display her knitted garments in the store. Thank God I have been able to make beautiful friendships that I will carry forever in my heart.
I was very happy to tell you about this beautiful experience and show you my new materials. I am very eager to start working and creating new and fun projects with all these new yarns. Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
