Hello everyone.
Happy Needleworkmonday and happy new week to you all of my dear colleagues in the @needleworkmonday community, how are you all doing today? I hope everything goes perfectly fine, today i will be sharing with you all on how i cut and sew this beautiful shirt Bubu free gown with drawstring waistline for my sister as her new year gift.
I made a promise to my Junior sister that i will make a new dress for her, since she was complaining that her all of her clothes is old and she wants to change her wardrope with new clothes and she also needs some church outfits, well, we all knows how junior sister's action intems of needs, she started disturbing and crying, i was so worried about that and asking us for money to sew clothes so i promise her that i will make her a new Sunday outfit, then i asked her to send me the style but i know tuat she normally likes free dress, so she asked me to sew the same style that i sewn recently for myself that she loves the style so much, that was okay my me because i know she will love it.
The style was so beautiful, so i was thinking on the kind of fabric to use for her then i searched through my bag and i saw this beautiful remaining fabric then i decided to use it for her.
let's get to the procedure
I started by spreading the fabric in the floor and i folded it by two, starting with the back cutting because the front side would be shrit, so, i folded it by two, i took the full length measurement and i took the shoulder wide measurements which i devided by two plus 5 inches for the bubu sleeves, i then draft down, so for the gown to be very free i took her biggest body measurements which is the hips then i divided by four, i took her hamhold length and put 6inches for the body to be very free and the drawstring, after drafting then down i went ahead and cut it out.
After cutting out i folded the fabric again and placed the back side on it, i put in 1.5 inch for the front button holds bending then i gave a "V" neck for the front by taking 9.5 inches length with sewing allawance, them i cut them out.
I then finish with the cutting process, i went and bend the front buttons holder.
I also cut out the fabric by 1.5 wide and 10inches length then i used it and turned the front neckline.
I used the same moment and placed the back side neck on the fabric and cut it out very round by 1.5 wide then i turned the neckline properly.
After turning i went and joined the feimt and back shoulder and body together.
So the next thing i did after that, i spread the dress on down and i measured the half length and i gave a straight line draft.
I cut out the drawstring roop and the trape i went and iron them very well.
then sewn a straight line on the roop, then i gave down a two sides straight line on the wast trape ontop of the dress.
I then used a safty pin and insert the roop inside then shift the gathers properly.
I then cut out the two sides sleeves bending hem and joined them then i closed the two sides sleeves and the body.
So here is the outcome of it.
It came out so lovely and nice, she will be so happy seeing this beautiful free bubu gown, so guys because i have no image to sample it, i wear it to see how it looks like, i know is not my size but using myself as a manicure or image, as you know.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog, have a wonderful day ahead.
