Needleworkmonday: The step-by-step process on how I cut and sew a beautiful leather handbag for my sister-in-law.

Greetings everyone.

Happy Monday to you all here in the #needleworkmonday community; how do you all spend your weekend? Hope it was fine. I am so excited to be here with you all today and share a post here on this special day, which is all about the step-by-step process of how I cut and sew a beautiful leather handbag for my sister-in-law.

It all happened after the last time I made a mini two-face hanging back for myself which I shared here last week on Monday, she told me that there is one of her bags she loves so much and she loves going out with it, and she has to check for it at the market and she cannot found it anyway, so she asks me if I can sew exactly like that for her. I asked her to bring the bag and let me see, and she bríng out this.

After seeing it, I then assured her I would try my best, and Glory be to God; I was able to give her something exactly and more beautiful with such neat sewing. Her friends who saw her with the bag were surprised and even asked me to sew another one for them.

After sewing the bag, me my self I love the bag because it looks beautiful and original. And that was how I was able to make this beautiful bag you are seeing above.

In making the bags, I chose to follow a very simple process by making use of the pattern. I start by losing the bag one after another, so has to get the old pattern.

I make use of the old zip and other things that were used in the bag, I only change the leather.

Things used

  • sewing machine
  • magnetic clip
  • zip
  • hand iron
  • silver design. See photo below

To explain my process of making this bag.
I first placed the old pattern on the new leather and then used big to draw the shape out.

I then cut all the patterns out by following that simple process

After getting the pattern set, I then started sewing the first, the cover of the bag and every other detail of it.

Sew the zip and also the hand holder at the side of the bag.

To succeed in sewing like this, you have to follow it step by step. I then pick a side of the bag and sew it around to the center pattern.

And sewed again the other side pattern of the bag to the center, and the shape of the bag was formed.

I then proceeded to the sewing of the bag cover, as seen below.

I then attach the zip to the bag and sew it.

And the bag is ready.

She was to make use of a chain at the hand side, and she didn't find the old one, so I chose to sew the hand.

After attaching the hand, I discovered it made the bag more beautiful, and she told me she even preferred the normal hand I designed for her to use a chain.
Finally, the bag is ready.

The finish work looks very cool and pretty, especially with the bag leather. If you do the comparison, you will discover I have brought back the exact style for her.

This is my first time sewing a unique handbag like this. To tell you the truth, I was afraid at first if I would be able to sew it, and I am proud of myself.
I learned a lot from sewing this bag; I also challenged myself to create something new. It took me 2 hours to complete this project. I hope I try.

Thanks, everyone for stopping by. I appreciate it
