Hello hives

A happy and blessed new week to you, all my colleagues in the @Needleworkmonday community; how are you all doing, and how was your weekend? Hope you are perfectly fine and you had a peaceful and wonderful weekend, I'm so excited about this brand-new day, for the privilege granted to us and the grace to see today, I give God the Glory because He is the Author and the finisher of our faith, he gave is the privilege to be here and share our work, ideas, tips, pattern, and shortcuts, nice to turn up together in Needleworkmonday platform and I want to use this medium to share with you all on The step-by-step process of making a senator outfit and trousers for my little brother-in-law

We had a child dedication to attend, so my little brother-in-law told Mom that he had no outfit and that Mom should buy him a new outfit to put on that day, Mom said she had no money and that he should manage the old one, he started crying so I told him I will sew a new outfit for him.

I went and picked up the Ankara fabric that I bought; although I wanted to use and sew for myself, I changed my mind and decided to sew for him because it had been a long time since I had sewn a new outfit for him.

The materials used are

  • The Ankara fabric

  • Gum stair or Gum paper

  • Black and Green thread

  • Office pin

  • Fastener

  • Fancy buttons

  • Black Elastic

The procedure

I started with the trousers, I folded the fabric by two, measured out the full length, and divided the waist measurement by 4 plus 1.5 sewing allowance, I now took the crotch length 8 inches and took the waist measurement with the 1.5 inches allowance for the crotch extension and curve the extension by 1.5, then I cut the front trouser out.

After cutting the front out, I folded the fabric again and then placed the front on it, I put in 3 inches for the back crotch extension, then 2 inches for the other part, and I cut it out.

After fishing with the trousers cuttings, I now cut out the pocket pieces.

After cutting out the pocket pieces, I picked the front and went to the sewing machine; I measured out 2.5 from the waist down and put it in the pocket.

The next thing after that is to join the left back and front side trousers together fellow by the right side

I now moved on to joining the crotch length both front and back together and closed the crotch extension.

I now bend the waist, put elastic to the normal size needed, and give a bending to the hem, so here is the outcome of the trousers.

The senator process

After finishing with the trousers I went ahead with the senator, I folded the fabric by two, measured the shoulder divided by two, took the full measurements, his chest measurements divided by four, and his hamhole length then I cut out 2 inches length and 1.5 widths for the neck, then I cut out.

I plàced the front on the fabric fold, put in 4 inches for the back pleat style, and cut the back out.

After cutting out, I went to the sewing machine and holed the pleat.

I cut out the back band and iron the gum stair.

Then, place it on the back of the dress and sew it down.

I still went ahead and cut out the front band and ironed the gum stair; after that, I cut out the front slit band and ironed the gum stair on it, then slit the front center part and sewed down the band, and put the side pocket.

I now joined the body together,

After that, I cut out the sleeves and fixed them on the body of the dress then bent the hem of the sleeve and the dress hem.

Here is the outcome of the outfit.

This was so beautiful and i was so excited for being able to make a male outfit because it's not easy especially the senator, my little brother-in-law and everybody was so excited, hope you like it.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
