My Urgent Sunday dress.

Hello everyone am super excited to share with you the urgent dress i made for myself for Sunday service .
The week was quite hectic as usual and i couldn't make it to my choir rehearsal,so i knew that i won't be wearing choir uniform hence,i decided to make a simple but unique dress using an Ankara fabric.
My intention was to use the dress for my friend's traditional marriage and also to repeat it as my Sunday dress.
Due to my busy schedule i couldn't start sewing on time, but i eventually did.

The materials i used were simple,just a
scissor
black thread
black lining
Iron,and
Ankara material.

The first step i took was to measure the length of the fabric ,my length measurements was 40inches i added 2 extra inches for bending.

I took my shoulder measurements, armholes,my burst measurements and more allowance since it was a free gown

I first of all cut out the the front side and it lining
And proceeded to cut out the back side.

For a quicker and faster way,i took the front side, place it on the Ankara fabric,i created allowance for the zip,i took 2 inches for the zip allowance and i cut it out also with it lining.

The next important step that i took was the cutting of the neck, the neck measurements was 3cm vertical,3cm horizontal.
But for the back side of the fabric for the neck, i didn't drop it down the way the front side was.

Finally was almost done, the i cut out the hand with it lining also, and i fix d it in.
I love putting pockets in my dresses, but i couldn't do it on this fabric because of time frame.

I was in a haste about finishing up on time and i ended up spending 5hours to make this dress.
I ironed it out and it was ready to be worn.

I wore it to my friends traditional marriage and am super excited that i also wore it to church.

A big thank you for your time and support.

Your emergency dress looks like perfection. Goes nicely with the yellow beret too. Bravo
