Hello everyone 😇
It is a beautiful Monday and a great time to share our needle works with everyone. I made something really spectacular today and words can't express how proud I am that I was able to achieve something this beautiful but, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, right?

For so long, I have tried so much to stay away from making clothes with yarns but I guess I couldn't run forever. Last week, I was scrolling through Pinterest and I saw an array of clothes; tops especially. All I wanted was to have all of them in my possession but again, one cloth at a time. I showed my sister a few of the designs and she totally loved this particular design so I opted to make it. Yeaaah!
I enjoyed the process of making this piece. I had to double my yarns just to be on the safe side. I tried using a single yarn and I realised that one could easily see through the spaces.
Materials Used
- Green yarn
- Yarn needle
- 4.5mm crochet hook
- A pair of scissors
- Measuring tape
Procedure
I started by measuring the size of the bust and dividing it by 8. I got 4.3inches and it is the measurement I worked with. For the body of the top, I used a single crochet in the back loops only. I made ten rows without an increase and from the eleventh row I started making increases both at the top and at the bottom.
There are two halves to this top and I had to ensure that both halves were equal so that the step-like pattern on the left would match that on the right.
One part of this top that I love so much is the turtle neck. I totally adore clothes with turtlenecks and now that I got the chance to make one, I didn't hesitate.
After making the turtleneck, I went ahead to make the loop holes. For the straps, I made a chain of thirty and went ahead to make a single crochet in each of the three hundred chains. One can decide to make their chain longer or shorter, depending on the look they are going for.
After making my strap, I inserted the strap into the loop holes and my top was ready. I am certain that my head marketer @humbe is going to love this product, hehe😅.
I completed this top in one day and I was really glad in the end. Immediately I knotted the last stitch, I rushed to try it on and it fitted perfectly. The green colour is a bit shouty but it helps the patterns to stand out. I probably would be wearing a jacket with this each time but that too works .
This is my spectacular project for today so what do you think of it? Do you like the stitches used? How about the green colour? Would you have preferred it in another colour?
